Nice to see the graphics engine has been updated, though it seems inferior to the new Unreal one. Still, the foliage has to be some of the most detailed ever. A real technical marvel are the holes in the leaves, look closely and you'll see you can look through them

Actually America's Army was the first game to include that feature, Vietcong was released half a year later. I don't think other games stole that idea, since aiming down a gun's sights is the natural way of aiming and most games were bound to include such aiming sooner or later.
One unique aspect of aiming in Vietcong was that your player would automatically poke his head from behind cover, in games like Call of Duty you still need to duck and peek manually.

Vietcong was buggy indeed, which is not surprising since the same team was responsible for the incredibly buggy Mafia. I couldn't load certain levels for some reason, and had to download saved games from other people and load that

I played both games numerous times and have not noticed any serious problems. Mafia ran perfect for me each time. So i will have to disagree with your statement

Never encountered a single bug in Mafia.
It had great cutscenes, professional and authentic voiceovers, and awesome storyline. It was a PAINFUL install...but worth every minute.
Vietcong did have its share of annoying stuckage and pathing bugs (its been a long time since I've played so don't remember specifics). Were it not for those however, it was still a good shooter...but highly annoying at times. Especially playing on that max difficulty setting.
Funny how a half starved, half dead VC with a shoddy rifle managed to aim perfectly 200+ yards away....never missed on that difficulty
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

Did you run Mafia on an Intel system, I've always had AMD. I even reinstalled Windows, yet the game still crashed to desktop
