What an incredible few years it's been for the team here at Massive! When we first began work on Tom Clancy's The Division, we knew we had something special and something we believed in so strongly that we wanted to make sure we got it right. We also knew we couldn't achieve that goal without your help.

All of these new features and experiences have made our team better, too. We're nimbler and better prepared to take action based on feedback. And now, more than ever before, we have a clear vision of what's important and what continues to make The Division a special experience for so many people. Following our Year 2 anniversary celebration, we're going to keep supporting that experience with new title updates that will bring new Global Events, Xbox One X enhancements, and more.

Quote:
We're thrilled to announce that we are working on Tom Clancy's The Division 2, and that development will be led by Massive Entertainment in collaboration with Ubisoft Reflections, Red Storm Entertainment, Ubisoft Annecy, Ubisoft Shanghai and Ubisoft Bucharest. The Division 2 will be powered by an updated version of the Snowdrop engine that enables us to realize our ambitions for the sequel, but more importantly, we're also taking everything we learned over the past two years and applying it towards the sequel to make sure we get it right.

On behalf of all the teams at Ubisoft, we thank you for the support you've given us over the past two years, and we hope that our continued work will earn that support for many years to come. We can't wait to show you what we have in store for The Division 2 at E3 2018 in June. See you then!

I hope they don't make the same mistake Bungie made with Destiny 2.

I will remain skeptical, but i welcome a new division. Let's see what they do with it.

Too many prostitutes trying to create a microtransaction game to recoup the certainly massive budget they will burn through.

Nice.
I have faith Ubilol is improving on what they have achieved with D1.

Faith in Ubilol... I don't have faith at all in them. It will just look good. Nothing else. Oh and new, better season pass.

I never understood why people where bashing the division. It's a good game, solid singeplayer for 20+hours, multiplayer was a bit flawed at release, but not terrible either. Nothing groundbreaking, but good fun for what it is. Looking forward for the sequel, hope it deliveres.

A bit? Laughing

Let's see why people are bashing The Division:
- It was nothing like it was initially showcased (leaning more towards survival)
- Downgraded graphics
- No content at release
- Laughable progression system even after two years
- Terrible PvP
- Full of generic content (activities and such)
- The most interesting content is part of the Season Pass.
- Cover combat without crouch...

Indeed, why are people bashing The Division?!
The game had a ton of potential and I'm sure many people enjoyed it and still do, but this kind of questions are really out of place in this situation.

Graphics are not really downgraded, just different than what was shown in the E3 version.
I also posted some comparison screenshots in the D1 thread some time ago.

Let's not use whataboutism, if we go down this path we can't judge properly any game (or anything for that matter). I'm talking strictly about The Division, a game we all know it was visually downgraded. And btw, this is probably one of the lesser problems from the list I posted above. Very Happy

Well... making solo play better probably is nowhere near their objectives(and come to think about it, it really shouldn't) so good luck to everyone else looking forward to co-op/pvp Razz

If they'll remove the static Gearsofwarian cover-based mechanics designed for gamepads and the grindy arcadey Ubibloatness, make the city's level design complex and rewarding instead of a sequence of bland virtual urban corridors in disguise, include a meaningful exploration with an elegant clean interface and introduce a compelling single player campaign with quality writing and lore, then I could be interested. I reckon though that all this might be a tad too much to ask from Ubi and their "vision" Laughing

Also don't forget the weapon sound dull and weak. Especially after playing tarkov and pubg now, tried division after 1.8, feels like stepping back 10 years in terms of weapon sounds.

Granted some weapons sound good like the silenced mk416. But when you fire the m249 It sounds like a BB gun I have to tweak my own sound settings to beef it up.

We need crisp sounds this time around.

Yup, all this. Gunplay was just meh... no true immersion with that.
Also:
- A.I was/is bad. Specially when there was mission/encounter with friendly NPCs.
- crafting for was also disappointment, for me it was too clunky,
- enemies were bullet sponges.
It was just looking good, but as it was said - nowhere near trailers.

One thing I truely loved were video feeds you could find. Some of them could give goose bumps.

Luckily that was changed in an update.
Sadly that change happened too late.

Can't wait to see what it's all about. I started playing The Division again with the 1.8 update and have played probably 250-300 hours since then. If they can pick up where the first gsme left off and not screw it up like Bungie did with Destiny 2, the game will be amazing. I also like that Ubisoft has continued to support and make their games better as opposed to abandoning them.

Ubisoft launches unfinished online games for which they still charge full price. Of course they continue to support them when they take no risks in the first place.

The Division 2 will release within the next 12 months, Ubisoft confirms
Due out before April 2019.
Quote:
The Division 2 will release within the next year, Ubisoft has confirmed.

The sequel to online multiplayer shooter The Division was announced in March without a release window, but in a financial report released today Ubisoft said it would be out in the 2018-19 fiscal year, which ends next April. Less than 12 months to wait, then.

In the same time period, Ubisoft will also release The Crew 2 and an "unannounced franchise title", which is intriguing. I suspect we'll find out more at E3 next month.

In total, the publisher expects to sell 19 million units of those three games within the next year.

The Division had no content at release? What I'm the fuck? I mean you can argue that what was there wasn't to your liking but that's just a ridiculous statement to make.

I have to on the game because the late game PvP zone was unfair as fuck, but the idea that there wasn't anything to there is just so wrong.

You are right, there were plenty of things to do at launch like: replaying the story missions on a different difficulty level or grinding the Dark Zone while trying to avoid the horrible PvP.
