So I am looking to replace my old Chieftec Dragon which only supports 80mm fans and which I had to hack up to fit 92mm fans and a 120m fan.

Looking to get a Corsair Carbide 270R + 3x Arctic cooling 140mm fans.

The case comes with a 120 mm fan already included so I wanted to use 2x 140mm for intake at the front, 1x120mm exhaust at the back and 1x140mm as exhaust at the top.

I'm running an i5 4570 with a Cooler master 212 EVO and a KFA2 Geforce 1080 Sniper EXOC.

I think this case should be quieter and cooler than the current setup.

What are your thoughts on the case and fan configuration? PersonallyI like the case since it is not too expensive and offers a decent set of features with lots of fan placement options.

^^That is all that should matter^^ Wink

However, lol, yes, it gets my thumbs up, although a little cramped, but I'm a water baby, so I need my space Very Happy

i cant really give you any recommendation, since i allways had cheap cases till i bought my one an only, that i still have and love..
So, i guess i just tell you what i got..

Cooler Master HAF 932 Full Tower.

https://www.techspot.com/review/133-coolermaster-haf-932/

To be honest, this was one of my Best buys, the case is very Silent, its a lot of room and you can make cable managment, also the TEMPS are Wonderfull...
Also, after all these years with this Tower, the Big Fans are still silent and working like on day 1.

I cant complain really, i will use this Case till it falls appart..

My temps ATM (while watching a movie with madVR), so mostly Idle, besides the GPU..

Umm, WTF is going on with the CPU temp? 10c° ??? Well the cores display the Real temps, so i dont know, my room temp right now should be around 15C°.. yeah, its cold here, the Fuckers turned of the Heating Sad

Oh, im using NO Water, only AIR..

damn, the Corsair looks really nice..But its midi, nahh i hate midi..since i went FULL Big Tower, im never going back..so much rooom and Air..Smile

Very Happy

15°C room temp? brrrr

and 10°C is ofc not true, try updating aida. or try a different program. if all show the same: the temp sensor is faulty (happens now and then, isnt a problem though)

back to topic:
the corsair is ok, used the older modell for an office pc for a friend. personally i just bought a fractal define r6 a week ago. compared to my old ass 15 years old big tower the idle temps are slightly higher, but under load its cooler. and silent, with the pre build 3 fans. it has massive free space, its quiet

NO! the top fan would kill the air flow. two in the front sucking inside, one on the back sucking it out again is enough for a decent air flow

temps on almost idle (browsing and watching a youtube vid on the second screen)

(using the 3 pre build in fans on my mobo connectors instead of the fan control of the case so the 3rd fan doesnt show up, but runs with the same speed)

Whats your budget?

If it's around 100€, the Fractal Design R5 or R6 should be nice. The R6 is also available with a glass window.

Or if you have the money, of course i would recommend the case i have Very Happy:

In general i think the cheaper and more expesnive Phantek cases are pretty good - visually and for airflow.

good damnit, your right, the sensors aint stuck, but are borked, well, at least the TIN one and one of the cores..they are moving not equally.. Did the RealTemp sensor test..

Oh well, i still have 2 cores that show the right temp, need to focus on these now..

Ahh, the CPU is getting old, when i bought it, it just came out, the mighty Q9550..

Well, i guess the next thing i have to buy would be a CPU, RAM and Mobo..
Cause it sucks upgrading from an 775 Socket..

man, im soooo old school Very Happy

Wait a bit longer save up the few bucks more and go with a fractal case. It will last you a good while.

Looked at a fractal design define c on amazon for 78 €. Seems like a good deal particularly since it already comes with 2 120mm fans.

I have Fractal Design Focus G
http://www.fractal-design.com/home/product/cases/focus-series/focus-g

Front fan: 2x 120 or 2x 140 2x Silent Series LL 120mm LED fans included
Top fan: 2x 120 or 2x 140
Rear fan: 1x 120
Bottom fan: 1x 120

It comes with two silent fans in front, so buy one for the rear and you are good to go. Unless you heavy OC'ed your CPU and GPU and you need even more fans to keep it cool Smile

Arukardo this one sounds great, only thing that bothers me is that it has a window and LED fans. Don't really like a lightshow but then again I don't run the computer overnight so might be tolerable.

If you have mobo, RAM or whatever with LED, then lights can be turned off in BIOS while PC is shut down. What's what I did with my setup.

Unless you don't want any lights while PC is running... Haven't tried that. But it's not that bad. If you have more questions about this case or need any pics. Let me know Smile

KFA powers the leds by the same cable which powers the fans itself, you cant deactivate them via software. you would need to cut of the specific wires

This.
No need to buy some castrated case just because you can't spare like ~30€ more euro.

I mean, you got the money for a 1080 from somewhere. Laughing

Ordered a Fractal Design Define C which fits my needs and my hardware. Hope to pick to up tomorrow after work. Very Happy

Understated design, no windows, silent and decent cooling and dust protection.
