Ok, I want to Install TightVNC on my Kubuntu setup. I have the TightVNC.deb file but have no idea how to install it Sad

Please help Very Happy

dpkg -i file.deb.

Do a
man dpkg
if you want to read more about it

Im guessing I put the File name where "file" is ??

Also, Which directory do I put it in? currently its in on the Desktop

Doesnt matter where it is, go to terminal, if not in root write
su -
and go to where the file is //via the terminal usind cd or cd ..
when you are in the same place as where the file is write
dpkg -i filename.deb

You could also run synaptic and try installing tightvnc through that

TightVNC

From a terminal 'whereis TightVNC' or 'locate TightVNC'.
Then type the path it gives.
If u use the Gnome desktop the find files is usefull for locating 'lost' apps.

The programs probably not in your current path.
