I think some people who spent the majority of time playing WoW with the expansions will find out that the glorified (nostalgic) vanilla/classic experience isn't so fun after all. It will be nostalgic for a while, then the flaws of the classic will become apparent and most will probably go back to normal WoW.

judging from having no queue times and there being only one high pop realm in the demo, it will not be the massive succes everything thinks it will be, i was bored of walkking after 20 mins alreay, the drop quests are just mindnummingly booring n tedious.

Big part of the fun was exploring the world. That's gone now, I'm not sure if I could level one char in classic again. I'd probably give up at level ~30 when I get quests for Hinterlands and Desolace (UGH that zone ...)

It is still a better working system for levelling than what we have now.
But yeah other than levelling a character on the side for that old AV version I'm not too bothered with it. Played it back in the days and have run servers on my own over the years when I felt in a nostalgia mood for the first three expansions.
Problem started when running a Legion server. Pulled me back into WoW.

EQ Classic worked for me. But I dont think WoW Classic will.

i dusted off my 14y old dvd this weekend to get a feel for vanilly, and really digging it for free on a server that had a fresh start this weekend
500lvl 1 gnomes in starting zone fridaywas a sight to see haha

nethergarde realm, average level 10 atm , some freaks already around 40 after three days
install base game from dvd get 2 patches from filebase https://www.fileplanet.com/archive/p-12604/World-of-Warcraft-Patch-v1-12-v1-12-1-UK-English and https://www.fileplanet.com/archive/p-42062/World-of-Warcraft-Patch-v1-12-Full-English , and change ur realmlist (set realmlist logon.elysium-project.org) and ur good to go , all for free and very bug free sofar (does not interfere with retail wow installation as long as u select a different directory
really really liking the fact u actually have to talk to people to do certain escort quests or elite quests, fuck world quests, and crafting my own gear feels so good, ffs bfa profesions where trash
and it runs at 60 fps on no gfx card potato comnputer haha
aparantly they working on a tbc realm also to that would copy ur character from their vanilla realm, tbd

Whenever I feel nostalgic for whatever expansion... I just set up my own server of that expansion (you can even have A.I. with ya to kit out a full group). The added bonus: no one around me (except that time me and the wife were playing TBC), since I hate the vast majority of other humans these days. :>
Also, once you had enough of the 'authentic' feeling you can tweak the values and have some fun with it.

Yeah that was in Vanilla as well.
In retail it can happen because of the server/client not catching up. A bit like: not being dismounted right away when flying indoors/cave. So not really the same.

. I remember it as a tedious grind fest with shitty graphics, far too much walking and uninteresting quests. After Ultima Online, this game felt incredibly shallow.
