I hate myself for always reading tons of info for a game I really want to play. Then when the game finally arrive I find that I pretty much know everything about the game and it isn't as neat as if I bloody well hadn't read that all the info.

In short, I think I'll pass on the interview.

Well, you won't really read any spoilers or something. The good thing of Valve is that they keep most of the information about the game to themselves. And that's very nice of them Wink

System Requirements these days mean less than nothing. Double them, and you might get playable framerate.

Well I'm paying attention to them now cause look at my comp. It's a piece of crap now. But they can be misleading. I saw the system requirements for Painkiller at Best Buy. The box says like 1.5 ghz, 300 and something RAM, etc. and it ran perfecly fine on my comp with mostly everything turned up.

system reqs USED to mean nothing. I remember i had the recommended for quake 3 back in the day and it played like crap. But newer games have more realistic requirements. Obviously if you judge what is "recommended" by 1600x1200 4xaa and 16xAAS, yeah you pobably WOULD need twice the reqs. But for those of us who are not reso/aa whores, i think 800x600 to 1024x768 with 2x or even no AA would suit the recommended reqs as stated by doug. I've played the hl2 beta and the doom3 alpha. Sure you can say that the doom 3 alpha isnt what the real game will work like b/c it's not got everything in there. But think of what ID will do to optimise the game, as opposed to the crappy framerates (which i dont get any more) in the alpha. Peace,
