Thanks for the tips! My ghetto (standard) version that I updated from Win 7 some time ago and which I practically use only for gaming was trimmed in a similar way. I've removed all the useless Winderpapps stuff through CCleaner, applied the trusty O&O ShutUp10 and manually disabled forced updates/privacy/silly diagnostic processes.
When in idle the system now always uses <20% of my 8GB since there's basically nothing running on the background if we exclude MSI Afterburner+RTSS. Can't complain. I haven't touched its appearance since I don't care about that, as long as it's functional I'm fine with the default look.
I can attest to my link provided, as I got 3 new laptops, each of which I couldn't be assed installing LTSB ATM, as new version is due, so I just stuck with BloatoPro on each, and with all the tweaks done in link, I can say (for myself anyway, and no complaints from my daughter & son, lol), it all works great, no hitches whatsoever
I will wipe all lappy's and go with LTSB new when it arrives though
