Flagship studios (formed by ex-blizzard employees Bill Roper and the Schaefer bros) announces the title of their first game in the May 2005 edition of PC Gamer. Described as a Diablo-esque FPS/RPG hybrid.
I think some scans would be in order, but I don't have any links. Went to go pick up the mag and its release date was today as everyone told me, they just didn't have it in yet.

Yeah I have the magazine, but dont have a scanner. Frankly though they arent that impressing, the game looks like The Suffering with better graphics with some resident evil style crap peppered in.

TA 2 which is being developed by some korean company is supposed to come out this year or next year. Hopefully it will be good.
Also, the vulcan was the best. That thing was so awesome, it didnt have as much range as the big bertha, but it still shot very fucking far, but shot full-auto provided you were able to supply the power it needed.

Yah - this is just my humble opinion - feel free to disagree and rage if you like. Agreements are also allowed. Let the games begin!
Well. It's like this: I just got the issue in the mail yesterday, and I was nonplussed. Firstly, by the constant reference to "FROM THE CREATORS OF 'DIABLO'!!!!" I mean, I understand the need for brevity and flash to get someone to read and all, but TWICE on the front cover and seven different times throughout the article. So I'm thinking, if it's the NCSoft guys, why not just come out and say it?
Apparently there are a lot more people that have left Blizzard than I'm aware of. THIS particular posse consists of Bill Roper and "...the creative team that established the 'Diablo' series at Blizzard North".
In any case, on to the game. The best way I can describe it is to say: take the NOT-RPG clickfest of "Diablo", mix in the slightly more expanded world and character classes of "Dungeon Siege" and throw it all together into the 3d graphics/world of "Painkiller".
Erm...the graphics...the graphics and the engine they sit astride are pretty damned good-looking but do smack eerily of the Painkiller engine, in setting AND execution. However, the article states that "(the game is)...powered by an engine built in-house, since none of the existing 3d engines could support the game's level of randomization." Hunh? I dunno, either - they did state that levels would be dynamically/randomly generated throughout the game, but I can only guess at what they're hinting at, 'cause, to a certain extent (unless it's just one big multiplayeresque frag-fest) the levels need some sort of consistent framework and continuity, neh?
At opening you get to choose your character's sex and general physique, though that will be further limited by whichever of the few(?) charcter classes you decide upon.
The gameplay is touted as "...not as linear as 'Diablo'...but don't expect multiple endings." Yah - I'm thinking linear, too.
Gamestory is, we (Earth) lost the battle to keep Hell's minions out, and now (years later) you (for reasons to be explained later) decide to use your ass-kicking skills to beat back these forces of evil darkness, et.al.
I dunno, Diablo/Diablo2 were awesome to play through, like, *once*, until I stumbled upon "Baldur's Gate" and found out what (computer) roleplaying was really all about. "Dungeon Siege" expanded upon the whole "Diablo" clickfest and, though I railed at its linearity, I lost hours and DAYS at a time with that friggin' "RPG-lite" game. "Painkiller" - well, great graphics, good mindless bloodletting in a pretty engine...who could ask for more...if that's all you wanted, that is. Great games all, but one-trick ponies in my book.
Here's to the next generation of mindless, gory clickfests - long live the King!

Just to let you guys know that they set up a website (I think it's up since E3) at http://www.hellgatelondon.com and there are a few screen shots who don't really look good but the cinematic video is da shit!! woah!
I hope the gameplay will make this game worth it!

The screens look great to me. I loved UT2004 with RPG and Monster mods. If this game is at least similar to that, I'll play it to death.
