alright people i want you all to name some really good 3rd person adventure games. heres my list i can thing of that are worht playing
all of monkey island series
all of broken sword
runaway:a road adventure
Longest journey
full throttle
DOTT
grim fandango
sam and max series
the dig
alright thats all i can think of at this moment in time in sure i missed some very obvious ones out. also this is PC only adventure games im lookin for. and it must be 3rd person perspective not like myst gabriel knight or nancy drew.
edit: i forgot the leisure suit larry series. please do not say crystal key 2..... i said GOOD adventure games. with quirky chracters etc. most of these are created by sierra and lucas arts both of whicha are dead :'(

sierra titles gotta count too from back when, how about innocent till caught and lost in time and KGB oh, those last two were first person never mind
still good though
Blue Force as well.
i dunno lots of good ones without the quirky characters.

yea i kinda counted maniac mansion in with DOTT  . syberia is alright keep listing and deadbeat i aint heard of ne of them games O.o

Beneth a steel sky, one of the best adventures out there.
It's gone free not long ago, and I played it thru 2 times, this game makes you laugh and enjoy a good storyline.

Fiver i agree 2 was the best. one laid out the plot (i did play number 3 first though then in order a few months later) 2 was a much improved plot and was funnier. number was the best grphically and had some nice tricks such as the buggle gum and the gold tooth and the ballon and read and thorn. i didnt like number 4 too much because of the controls and the fact it was poorly scripted because it was the first real attempt at a fully 3d adventure game.
add to the list fallout 1 and 2 (not exactly a true adventure game but still good and falls under the same cat.) and the old indiana jones games. they were pretty cool

URU: Ages Beyond Myst with the Path of The Shell addon.. its 3d.. its adventurous.. its damned good and it may make you want to rip your brain out of your skull..

Uhhhh, what are you smoking? The Gabriel Knight series ARE 3rd person adventure games. IMHO, they are the best adventure games ever.
They're nothing like Myst.
There's also Sanitarium which is a great adventure game as well. Then there's the Last Express, though that is first person.

any adventure game with humor is always good, guaranteerd.
personally i don't enjoy the adventures without humor as much. (syberia etc)

The Police Quest series was great. Sanitarium was a great and creepy adventure game. Alone In The Dark series were also great. Started the survival horror genre. There's so many.

That's a nice list there pallebrun, I'll add Duckman - The Legend of The Fall, it's a pretty short game but it's really really funny, it's even funny if you haven't watched the tv-series before.

but an adventure i was amazed of was : Gabriel Knight 3
too bad they dont make a GK4
