In no time everyday life of eight people changes forever. They have just survived a mystic plane crash and now find themselves in the middle of horizonless winter forest in Alaska. An unknown world full of challenge and danger surrounds them. You are one of the survivors. Act on your own or join efforts with other players and do your best to get back home!
The Wild Eight is much rougher than anything you've played in last years:
Try to survive and explore the forest side by side with other players. It’s the right way to stand against this harsh world... until a madman appears in your group who wishes to grab the catch. Or to taste the human flesh.
At night the temperature drops to critical points, and a bleeding wound worries you when least expected. You must develop all survival skills such as creation of shelters and other necessary things, otherwise you’re doomed to death...
Where did all these deserted buildings and mutated wolves come from? Solve all the puzzles of this place to get out of here.

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
That's because they don't seem to be bringing anything new to the formula. It's the same sale pitch over and over: crafting, unforgivable world, procedural generated levels, harsh survival... bla bla.
The only thing that sets it apart is the 8 player co-op. But let's be real here: sometimes it's hard to find TWO people to play and enjoy the same game as you, let alone SEVEN.
I also think people are becoming tired of survival games. There are already 8729 such games on the market. And 8726 of them are still in EA...
And I bet they need more money than they are asking for... A kickstarter barely scraping over their goal is usually not great news. Ah well, time will tell.
Thanks for your waiting, questions and ideas. We read, discuss inside the team and take all of them into consideration.
You will be able to begin your journey in The Wild Eight very soon. To be more specific: circle February 8 in your calendar. The Wild Eight will be launching on Steam Early Access for $19.99 USD.
This winter has become a time to rethink. The upgrade system you could have tried in Pre-Alpha Demo was completely redesigned as well as the technical side of the multiplayer. Changes affected ourselves too, but first things first.
New unscheduled features significantly improve The Wild Eight and we are finally ready to give you an opportunity to buy and play the game. We’ve decided to release in Early Access since the development continues with a big world expansion in mind. Along with tuning the game balance and fixing minor bugs it will take mere 3 months.
Multiplayer mode will work from the day one and the game will have long hours of adventures. Don't forget that The Wild Eight – unlike most of other games we all see on Steam today – is both challenging survival sandbox and a story-driven experience with quests. I really hope you’ll love it as much as we do.
What is going to be added as a part of the Early Access updates:
Game balance and bug fixes based on your feedback
New side-quests and objects
A more advanced combat system including shooting
Better user interface and map
New languages
Mac and Linux Support
Updates will be coming every two weeks. Also Early Access players will get some special cosmetic reward.
On another note, developers of The Wild Eight are proud to present their new name – Fntastic! During the whole development process the team has grown up – both in experience and amount of people (and previous name Eight Points was mainly about the first eight developers who started it all). To express gratitude to the ones who worked on The Wild Eight but left the team we would like to keep Eight Points as the second developer.
The Wild Eight 1.0 Release Date
And now, unfortunately, it’s time for some bad news - The Wild Eight will not be able to make the previously-announced March 2019 release date as well as August 2019 for console ports. We apologize for misleading our audience.
Some time ago, we faced a choice - either to make the deadline, and release an unpolished product, with some of the planned content either missing completely or not realized fully - or to finish what we started, and take a longer time doing it.
For a long time we’ve been deep in the trenches, working hard on eliminating all of the bugs and issues that were caused by completely re-working the online infrastructure - a job that was needed to be done in order for our multiplayer to function properly. That increased the overall development cycle, but was ultimately worth it in the long run, allowing us to eliminate future issues with online - whether it’s on Steam, or consoles.
We’re not able to give an exact release date to you yet - but our current plan is to finish work on The Wild Eight by the end of Q2 2019. Unfortunately, we can’t give an exact date at the time - but we’ll announce it in a short while, so please stay tuned!
Once again, thank you for your time, and have a great day,
