There's a reason for that: materials and procedure.
But you know, you can always ask your dentist/dental hygienist.

The wife is one so I know a little bit about these things but you're better of asking a professional.
There's other options than implants after all.

You can always go Bob Mortimer way

Or don't and end up like Matthew Smith, a famous 8-bit developer in the 80'ies who ended up a drug addict:

In this earlier interview (late 90'ies/early 2000's?) it becomes quite clear what his drug of choice was (which explains his lack of teeth and absolutely maniacal expressions and eyes):

Meth, Speed or similar which causes drymouth which in turn causes dental breakdown.

it's doable only if your bones are good
if they're not good you're only transferring the problems from your teeth to your jaw
and once your jaw starts going, it's not a pretty or cheap sight..

Than you are fucking ignorant and I'd advice you to talk to your dentists. If you have one... UK no? Laughing

got an implant years ago after i broke one off incisor, luckily i had a private tooth insurance already (costs me less than 20 bucks a year, but they pay everything).had to pay the complete stuff myself first, but i got 100% money back from that insurance + i got money from my normal health insurance for the dental bridge they would have paid for (all together roughly 3k euros, ~2200-2300 for the implant + 700 for the bridge). you can get those implants a bit cheaper though, but my doc is master of implantology + is only 20m away from my home Very Happy and i knew i would not have to pay anything for it

20 bucks a year Surprised no way , ive seen minimum 30 euros a month in most places and the 4 first years they only cover 500 euros or some low amount that is basicly what u gave them per month as a total ... . What country/insurance company?

unless u was under 18 or something or some sports thingy

how does it feel and sit, do u feel it in ur jaw when u like move around or do sports, hows maintenance ? do they take xray pictures of it every year? ( at 100 euro a pop ... )

does it have a lifetime duration/warranty ? Smile

I’m currently nursing one of my front top incisors that took a major trauma 10 months ago.
Almost knocked out by taking a boomerang straight to my chops Smile

10 year old son ‘can I have one more throw before we leave the field dad?’ Answer, no son just as I turned around whack!! Lesson learned, never turn your back on someone who is wielding a boomerang
1 black eye, 2 split lips and a front tooth pushed back about 10mm. It’s still not right 10 months later and feels like a false tooth in my mouth.

The price to replace it with an implant if it doesn’t survive was quoted at £2,500.

@pickupartist: back as a kid and when i was in school and university i was completely in a private insurance cause of my family, i dropped out after starting working and got into a state health insurance. but was able to remain on the same extra insurance stuff from my private insurance as before (i do pay more than the 20bucks a year cause i have a private liability insurance there too. actually i think its about 2,30 euros for the tooth stuff + a few bucks for the other stuff a month). so its not less 20 bucks a year, is a little under 30 bucks a year. still cheap Wink

still feels different after years, its just harder than your normal tooth. in the first days/weeks after it was set (the complete procedure was over months cause they had to remove the rest of the original tooth and prepare the bone, saw the thread in, adjust the implant etc pp) really not great, but you get used to it. but theres is no problem with it at all, i just feel it when i accidently bite on my lower teeth, sits like it should. ofc it doenst move at all, no maintenance needed. they could somehow pull it out again if needed, but i really dont know how that should work cause its rock solid in my jaw. if something happens to it they will take care of course, its a lifetime thing. tbh im not often at my doc, only if i have problems or feel like i could need a professional tooth cleaning (maybe every two years or so, its paid by the insurance as well, even once a year Razz)

@grale: in my case it was a bottle of beer, standing next to a friend, just trying to drink a sip, he turns around and accidently knocks my elbow up and there goes half of my teeth...

was about dunno, 10 years ago. tried it twice with glueing a new piece to it (not i tried it, my doc), broke off twice. once a year roughly, so we decided to remove the half dead remaings of my original tooth and got the implant about 7-8 years ago, man time flies
