Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt star as Rick Dalton and Cliff Booth, a washed-up actor and his longtime (and long-suffering) stunt double and best friend, respectively, who just so happen to live next to Sharon Tate (Margot Robbie). The trailer is as snappy as one would expect from Tarantino — quick dialogue, visual flourishes, catchy music — with a comedic skew to it that brings to mind both Shane Black’s The Nice Guys and the Coen brothers’ Hail, Caesar! With “old” footage of Dalton’s movies and even an on-set verbal tête-à-tête with Bruce Lee (Mike Moh), the film looks as fun as Tarantino must have had making it.
The rest of the cast is stacked with Tarantino mainstays and other familiar names, including Al Pacino as Dalton’s agent, Damian Lewis as Steve McQueen, Dakota Fanning as Squeaky Fromme, and Bruce Dern as George Spahn. Tim Roth, Kurt Russell, Michael Madsen, and James Marsden — among others — have also been cast in the film, though their parts are still unknown.

Quentin Tarantino already has a plan to release an extended version of his new film “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” as a Netflix miniseries sometime in the future.
Nice, certainly one of my favourite movies this year.
"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."
Weakest Tarantino, only Death Proof is worse. In all his nostalgia he forgot to write an interesting story with good dialogue. It's still a 6 or 7 movie but for Tarantino that's catastrophic I don't expect any less than a 9 from the guy.
It's obviously made to be dull and flimsy and then with a really satisfying and super straight forward ending that you might not (but should) expect.. Me and the friend i saw it with months ago still talk about it and have a little chuckle. I gave Death Proof a 7 (had to check) i'd probably give this the same, maybe a 7.5..
while it's a nonsensical movie it's also among the best acted, so to me this was less painful than some of the other stuff he's done.
i wouldn't say it's bad, the characters are like always really colorful and interesting, their day-to-day business on the other hand isn't super exciting always though..
