It seems to be deleted but for what reason?

It wasnt there for a while. I tried to search for 'reuters' and 'huawei' using forum search + ctrl+f on the world news section and it wasnt there.
However it's good that it wasnt removed.

Yeah sorry,
I thought that Huawei was partly owned by Soros, so we had to hide that thread for a moment or he wouldn't pay for the servers again. Stupid sweet Soros monies :'(

The search function itself is quite iffy with strange error messages at times. I think I've noticed a thread disappear once or twice only to be bewildered when it's where it was supposed to be again.

It's a glitch in the mod tools. Doing certain actions causes threads to move to the deleted section. 2001 called, it wants its bugs back. |
My theory is as follows:
If you delete the last post, the date of the last post will be the last updated date for the whole thread. As all threads are sorted and displayed according to their last posts date, this might lead to the thread going back some pages and thus "disappearing".
Just tested it. Yeah, this definitely happens. Maybe this is what is causing stuff to disappear? I never had to restore a thread from the trash, if it wasn't actively moved there. Deleted stuff definitely get's deleted forever. |

Deleting the last post should push the thread back in time. That’s fine. I wasn’t speaking about that. Some admin actions cause a thread to delete entirely.
