Haha I hear you about trying to hide since most weddings here take place in similar environments out of the city (barring those in hotels).
If it makes you feel a bit better almost everyone will be focusing on the bride and groom so you're free to just muck about! That's how I motivate myself to attend weddings

Nobody there that could be your wingman for the night ? You usually find one during these kind of events, someone that doesn't want to be there as much as you do, hates the music as much as you do, etc.
