Title says all, game, when released you realised it's not something you were hoping for.
Here is my list:
Bioshock infinite - Nothing like the 1st or the 2nd one.
Witcher 3 - Everyone said its a really good game, yeah, tried it, just didn't work
Last of us - Good game, but I thought it would be GOTY material.
Castlevania lords of shadow 2 - meh, even canceled the CE after trying the pirated edition, modern world sucked.
Shadow Warrior 2 - After the 1st one i was so obsessed with the 2nd, guess they turned it to a borderlands like shooter….
Jedi Academy - No FPS lightsaber? skip for me then.
Prince of persia Warrior within - more of the same, but the whole theme was really offputting for me.
Nino Kuni - I thought it would be the next "Lost odyssey" for me. Guess I was really wrong.

BioShock 2: B (C? D?) -team BioShock with two times worse textures and no vending machine sounds (bugged). No atmosphere in it.
Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus I guess?
I played for the first time the two previous Wolfenstein games by MachineGames last month, and I excitedly tried Wolfenstein II this week because I liked the previous 2 quite a bit, alas something feels really off. Dunno if it improves but so far it's been a big disappointment.
Control: Feels like a copy pasta game and I shit-deleted it after an hour or two.
F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin - It's not bad, but coming from the original I expected far more.

pretty much every "exclusive" title thats been hauled by fans of that console to heavens as some absolutely perfect thing ...for me its especialyl the case for the "interactive movie" kind of titlesand last case of that which i played recently was:
- Sony's Spiderman - was all nice looking and nice mix of comicbook plots in it , but deep down just a arkham-clone formula from 5 years ago to a teeth with all the good/bad that comes with it , so pretty solid 7,5/10 game but nowhre near the praise it got
Second section are just titles i expected to be fun but ended up having problems with, most recent case:
- Celeste - was pretty fun to play from what i played , but the pixelart feels way too lowes to the point of making my eyes bleed , so could be fun game, but ultimately cant play for more than 20 minutes[/list]
might list more in detail later , but these are just recent dissapointments

Mass Effect 3 - lots of people harp on the ending alone, but honestly, the whole story of the 3rd game and how to deal with the reapers was utter garbage. The only good parts of the game where set up from past games so it gets no points for that.
Pillars of Eternity - the most bland, boring game Obsidian ever made.
Gothic 3 - need I even explain how much of a mess this game was ?

RE 2 Remake
Since the original RE 2 is one of my favorite games ever, I was looking forward to see how it looks and plays in 3D. After playing for about two hours or so I was already bored. It all felt kind of rushed and soulless. I hated the movement of the characters, even the shooting and gunplay felt really weak.
Finally stopped playing after reaching sewers looking for chess plugs. That kind of gameplay was fine back in 1998, but now it all seemed really dated and annoying.
Still have it installed since it came out, but I just can't do it anymore... Easier to just watch the rest on YouTube and be done with it.
It's not a bad game for new players, but as a fan of RE2 it all looked surprisingly pointless and tedious.

Aliens Colonial Marines.
I had heard it was shit but I thought fuck it, I'll just do a playthrough, it is just a mediocre FPS game.
Nope. It is rage-inducing and clunky as fuck. The "wrong" kind of difficult.

Dunno maybe FFXV? Not that i really expected anything from SE these days but it was still a bit astounding how shit the game actually turned out to be.

lol  thee days i post mostly indies and AAs, as the whole AAA industry is pissing me to no end recently with all the interactive movies, bland openworlds and GaaS nonsense.
And you know it cant really be called dissapointment when you dont like something to begin with  |

yes, Bio2 is much worse than the 1st, but even with that said, Infinite really hit me…..how could they fuck that up that much….

Best single player / campaign game ever since Half Life, IMHO. It totally deserves GOTY, but it was too short. I cried at the end.  |

I disliked CoH2 at its release - but after spending more than 700 hours in it (which is less than CoH1..but still) I must say ive changed my mind. Did not play it much the first year though.
shitloads of new stuff in my pc. Cant keep track of it all.

I got plenty of games that didn't live up to the hype but I'll limit myself to games most people love and I didn't:
The Last Of Us:
Great premise, great setting, great story, mediocre gameplay at best. Tried VERY hard to enjoy it but I couldn't. I watched the full game on Youtube instead.
Final Fantasy XIV:
Half my friend list is playing it. I spent TWO WEEKS trying to get into the game but in the end ended up hating it. It feels generic, extremely dull combat, tons of boring fetch quests, main quest isn't even that interesting. I heard it takes until level 40-50 before you start to hit the better quests. Fuck that!
KOTOR2:
Everyone seems to love this game but with the game feeling half unfinished and the last third being a complete mess, as much as I tried to love it, I failed. It's a decent game but not a great one.
GTA IV:
I really really tried to like this game but it cut so much fun stuff from the previous games and replaced it with a brown and grey world, cars that weren't fun to drive, annoying walking movement, etc. There's a good game in there but after Vice City, this felt incredibly dull.
Bioshock:
Amazing setting, LOVE the atmosphere, but I just didn't like the game itself. I don't like fully scripted FPS and this game is COMPLETELY scripted with enemies appearing only once you walk past certain spots and some really bad respawning which I absolutely hate. Combat is also nowhere near as good as people make it sound - it's clearly a console shooter at heart. This should have been a proper RPG, not a crappy FPS with some weak RPG elements.
Half Life 2:
There's a theme here: great setting, great atmosphere, but linear as fuck, too heavily scripted and the story is overrated. The backstory is good but the actual story is just very shallow. There's some amazing parts in the game but for every good level, there's a really bad one. Especially the last third of the game is ugh. The two expansions are shit too - the first is actually atrocious.
