The "on-the-fly" sensitivity is probably the best feature on the MX518. This feature allows gamers to switch (in hardware) between 400 dpi, 800 dpi and 1600 dpi effortlessly by pressing a "+" and "-" button on the mouse.
I don't get it, I thought dpi was the accuracy of the mouse, not the speed?
Well if you do a movement to the left and up , at 1600 dpi, it will register 4 times the amount of dots over 400dpi. Whats the problem? It is more accurate as it registers more movement which to decide to the OS how it will interpret the data.
