As we not too long ago started a new gen i remembered what games i played first on my previous consoles, so lets see:
PS2: King Kong 2005, my brother bought me a hacked silver slim PS2 and several games, my first was King Kong, don't remember much but i remember i liked it.
Xbox 360: it was either Resident Evil 5 or Devil May Cry 4, they were my firat on system, i think RE5 was the first as i remember being blowing away from the graphics, as moving from 21 inch CRT to 32 hd ready was WOW!
PS3: probably Killzone 2 as i bought the disc with the system but not sure.
PS4: it was either Infamous Second Son or Killzone Shadow Fall.
XSX: Kingdom Hearts 3, and it sucks lol, Titanfall 2 is the first game i like on the system so far.
PS5: Assassin's Creed Valhalla, only 5 hours in but fantastic impressions so far, looks and run really good.
I don't remember any game on my Rambo console ;D However my next consoles were magical. Mario on my Terminator and of course Alex kid in miracle world/shinobi world along with sonic on my sega master system.
I go back quite a long way (my username should check out ) but my gaming memory is still pretty good. So.....
Atari 2600: Breakout
ZX Spectrum: Horace and the Spiders, or maybe The Hobbit
C64: Koronis Rift
Amiga: Batman
Super Nintendo: Starfox
PS1: Jap import of Ridge Racer
N64 (via Z64 zip drive add-on): can't remember, as got a load of games with it Day 1
Dreamcast: Soul Calibur
PS2: Ridge Racer V
Xbox: Project Gotham Racing
Xbox 360: Project Gotham Racing 3
PS3: Last Of Us (sat out most of the PS3 gen...)
PS4: Resogun
PS5: Astro's Playroom
Where have those decades gone! Favourites? Horace and the Spiders, Ridge Racer, Resogun
*edit* haven't owned many, but completely forgot about my handhelds:
DS: Brain Training
PS Vita: Persona 4 Golden
*2nd edit* I don't know how I forgot this in the above list, but it came back to me that I also briefly had the infamous 'toilet' console, the Atari Jaguar! Cannot even remember what I first played on it, I think Jeff Minter did Tempest on it so it was more than likely that. Jesus, I've owned some crap over the decades alongside the diamonds

I love the hump....it's nice to have somewhere to post where being a 50yr old gamer doesn't make me the exception in the room! Although to be fair I was in my mid-thirties when I joined here.

you are not TRUE console fan
I think i was 11yo (20+ years ago) when my parents bought me my first "console", which was a Terminator 2 and I used to play a lot of Mario, Contra, some Looney Toons platformers. Before that I used to play on my buddies Terminators. I remember one of the having those cassette games, but I don't remember the name. Also, some of them had the Rambo mentioned above. I do remember experiencing a Sega Mega Drive once and I was amazed.
Never been able to afford a proper console, so growing up with gaming was based on going to a hall where you could pay for hours, they had LAN parties with DOOM and Warcraft, I always played alone on the PC that could run Carmageddon - Oh that's where I first experienced a PS1, we were playing Driver and a soccer game before FIFA, don't remember the name.
My first console was a PS2, which i won in a contest, but I was already married by then - always been playing on a PC.
After a few years I bought a PS4 and started keeping a PS as an exclusive alternative gaming platform.
Tried Xbox, as my nephew has one, but not very much into it.
I could google this, and actually will, but asking anyway since I figure you might enjoy answering, but what was the Terminator? Was it a console that played knock-offs from other systems or something else?
It reminds me that i had a Megason when i was young, was buying those yellow cartridges, learned a few years ago it was a NES knockoff. Pretty cool if you think about it, they don't do this anymore in consoles.
Got a load of nostalgic memories from this topic....made me look up some pics of my all-time favourite 'back-up' solution, the fabulous Z64 add-on for my N64.
It was awesome, especially for its time. Being able to both make your own back-ups from cartridges from friends, or even (at the time) rented from blockbuster, as well as the more standard downloaded images was impressive. And this was the tail-end of the dial-up internet era, so making your own back-ups was often easier. I remember they were pretty good at updating the firmware too, with more features or patches to fix certain games when Nintendo tried to stop it working. I had a dodgy dial-up connection that I often couldn't even connect to when I had this, because I remember pestering my friend who had an ISDN line (remember them?!) to get me firmwares and game images for it! Zip disks themselves were a novelty at the time as well, so being able to store a handful of top Nintendo games on one disk and swap between them was a definite wow moment whenever I showed friends the device in action!
I sold it when the PS2 came out and made everything else suddenly look shit, but I do regret it sometimes.
Psx - Gran Turismo
Spent so many hours on that one... and got some sore thumbs from getting all gold licenses but it was worth it for that concept car. Good times

haha same here! I can still remember spending hours and hours trying to get the lap time around Monaco in the Toyota GT-One for the final gold...geez it was tough, those top license times were challenging back in those days.
Got it in the end, but pretty sure the older me of today would have no chance, both in terms of outright ability or patience.

When it's the only game you have to play it's way easier, right?
Then, a few months after that I got my 2nd Psx game... FFVII
