I really aint anything special. Hl1 with some minor changes such as ragdoll. Textures are pretty much same, except for water. Aint worth its money if you already have bought original hl1.

HL source is a major waste of money for those that allready owned all the steam games, it is not worth the 10 extra dollars just for HL Source, however that 10 extra IS worth it for all other steam games. DOD: Source aint worth it though, there are much better WW2 games on the market now. For me the only reason I will end up buying HL2, is just so I can easily play mods for it online. I cant wait to see mods like natural selection on the source engine.

I just laugh at the "major waste of money" cause it's only $10! That's it! It's not like it was a full $50! It's also a good deal for the people who haven't played the first HL (like most of my friends). And much better WW2 games? I can only really think of two. BF1942 and Call of Duty. DOD was a great MOD for HL1 and is probably my second favorite mod for HL1 (first being The Specialist).
I already owned all of the Steam games except Condition Zero. I'm still glad I got Silver though.

I regret I bough the silver package, I just wasted 10$. No big deal, but I don't want to replay Half Life 1 if the graphics are all the same and I'm 100% sure Day of defeat will have no improvement neither, I see no point to pay for an old game I don't want to replay in it's original state and a game that is free to download. Only worth it if you really want Half Life 1, source or not as there's almost no difference between both versions.

well, i had fun playing throught all of hl1 again with the new neat features from source, lightning is ages better, theres ragdoll, the overall sound is better, there are even a few new sounds going on, and of course there is the nice water effects, but thats just me, plus i only payed 10 bucks for silver since i had the ati voucher hehe.

I think people expect too much of it... people think it is the same quality as HL2, but it isn't, HL: Source uses the same 6-year-old textures as the original... it only runs smoother and has nice water reflections.. not going to play it...

The thing is, is that people are now doing complete mods for HL:S, redoing all the sounds, textures, voices etc which will only work with HL:S and not the original. Don't see why we have to pay another $50/£30 for HL:S when most of us already bought HL years ago, and Blue Shift, OP4 etc etc etc....it doesn't really matter what state it's in at the moment....that aint the point.

But really it's only $10 more. I don't see what the big deal is. I don't get complaining about $10.

I was interested in HL:S right up to the point when i heard that the only new thing it would have is a better lightning system and nice new water. Well my reply to this is go fuck yourself, the lightning is the easiest thing they could have remasterd and it's not as critical as the textures wich are omg.... and the water, it's nice, but it doesn't fit with the cartoony graphics that HL has at all. Realistic water, and cartoony graphics...plz.... i really don't see why people would want to pay for this shit it's not so far off the original.

I though that textures will be also remastered... but it seems that I was wrong :/ Too bad that Valve didn't want to put more time in hl:s. I have played original hl, bs and opforce and though that i will go again through hl story with hl:s but reading these comments i think iam not going to do it. Thanks for the replys guys.
