Hi,

Together with garus, we each implemented cookie fixer scripts. I am guessing he will add it to his extension.

Here is mine:

Add this to Tampermonkey and it should just work to fix the bug where threads are not getting marked as read.

Pushed another version. Cookie is reset when clicking "Mark all as read". It isnโ€™t being reset by default.

By the way, what's that increasing number on the left control panel? The one that replaces "FAQ" and is above "Search"? It was on 45 yesterday, now it's 60 Very Happy

It's the number of visited threads. This was the problem. It is now limited to 95, and will start clipping once you reach that number, whereas in the past it would reach ~136-137 and grow above 4KB, which wouldn't be accepted by server.

Its the number of threads, that are currently marked as read by the forum_t cookie. If it were to reach 137 or thereabouts the cookie stops working. Now you can keep watch and wonder if leos script actually works . Enjoy Very Happy

Incidentally, do you think this script will fix the (highly annoying) issue where threads end up marking themselves as read if you don't visit them quick enough after opening the page/tab?

So I went to 95 and beyond. It showed 96 and my cookie was ultimately erased. So everything became unread again. I will limit number to 3 and repeat the test Smile

edit: think i have a fix. Will talk to leo Smile

Some part of the read thread tracking happens server side and I think that is faulty as well. I would often avoid reading the forum from different machines because that seemed to mark everything as read as well.

It's not American, it's using "en-UK" as locale. Are you seeing "12-5-19"?
