|
Features
Quote: |
# A new Zann Consortium faction whose powers will include bringing enemy units, stealing credits from other factions, slowing down enemy unit production and purchasing units and upgrades from the black market.
# The ability to customize bases in land battles.
# 13 new planets including Mandalore, Hypori, Honoghr, The Maw, Felucia, Mustafar, Kamino, Utapau and Saleucami.[2].
# The ability to transport units in vehicles.
# The ability to bombard a planet surface when a capital ship is in orbit, this is likely to be an addition to the current bombing runs system.
# Some ships will carry cloaking devices. (Underworld and Empire faction only)
# Mobile defense platforms (moving turrets) will be constructible.
# New types of terrain will be present on planets. New terrain types will include terrain that can only be crossed by infantry, terrain that can not be crossed heavy vehicles and terrain that can damage your units.
# Graphics will be slightly better due higher resolution textures.
# Larger maps will be introduced (%30 - %40 bigger)
Many new units have been announced for Forces of Corruption and many more are speculated (over 40) but Below is a list of confirmed units.
New Space Units
* The TIE Defender as the ultimate multipurpose fighter employed by the Empire, an equal match to the B-wing and the StarViper multipurpose fighter/bomber (used by the Underworld).
* The TIE Interceptor as the ultimate Imperial space superiority fighter.
* The B-Wing as the new Rebel multi-role bomber.
* The Executor-class Star Destroyer as Vader's famous capital ship. The Executor is expected to have 12 hard-points (possibly a mixture of turbolasers and ion cannons) along each side, the standard Star Destroyer has 3 on each side.
* The Eclipse-class Star Destroyer as the gigantic super-star destroyer. The Eclipse is expected to have a superlaser similar to (but smaller than) that of the first Death Star - it is also expected to have more hard points than the Executor-class Star Destroyer. It was hinted in Star Wars Insider issue 89 that the underworld may be the faction to access this unit.
* The Death Star II is able to destroy enemy capital ships with one shot as well as entire planets.
* The rebels are expected to have a Mon Calamari Frigate, although details on this ship are sketchy.
* The new Zann Consortium fraction is also expected to have a wide variety of ships, though little information on this had been revealed.
* The StarViper fighter is employed by the Zann Consortium and will most likely be obtained during the campaign through Prince Xizor's Black Sun. They may also be able to release Buzz Droids, also belonging to the Zann Consortium only.
* The new Zann Consortium faction has Buzz Droids in their arsenal.
New Land Units
* Advanced Droideka (Destroyer Droids) will be available to the Underworld.
* The A5 Juggernaut will be a transport for Imperial - and possibly other factions - use to protect the troops. It is heavily armored, like the AT-AT which is said to have replaced the aging land unit.
* The Empire appears to have Dark Troopers, which will be available in three phases. Phase 1 apperas to have a Vibroblade, Phase 2 has a Jetpack and Phase 3 has rocket launchers that pop up out of it's shoulders.
* Plasma Tanks apparently capable of taking down AT-AT will be available for the Zann Consortim faction.
* The Ewok Handler captures Ewoks, straps bombs to them and sends them off toward enemy structures.
* The Zann Consortium faction will have access to new types of infantry as well as other units for example Nightsisters Riding Rancors, Vornskr, a native creature from Mykyr and possibly Grenadier Units.
New Hero Units
* Luke Skywalker will be able to climb out of his X-Wing and take part in ground battles. One of his confirmed abilities is the saber throw move.
* Yoda has also been announced for the Rebels and will be able to meditate and reveal areas of the map as well as join in the melee. Judging by several gameplay videos, Yoda is likely to have the ability to attack enemies with a "berserker" move.
* Thrawn has been confirmed as a new hero for the Empire, expected to take the place of Piett in a Star Destroyer.
* IG-88, probably piloting the IG-2000, is employed by the Zann Consortium faction. He can dispense radioactive material over biological units on land, inflicting massive damages
* Tyber Zann, the leader of the underworld faction, will be a playable unit. He will be the underworld equivalent of Mon Mothma and Emperor Palpatine.
* Silri, an original Force-sensitive Nightsister from Dathomir. She can inspire fear into enemies and fights with a lightwhip.
* It is possible that Trandoshan bounty hunter Bossk will be employed by the Underworld faction. This could be deduced by the fact that his tradmark grunt can be heard in one of the trailers, along with the presence of his ship, the Hound's Tooth.
* A new Defiler unit as an Zann Consortium minor hero unit can spread corruption on the Galactic Map and also comes on land.
* Urai Fen, Tyber Zann's bodyguard will be able to call upon the powers of Nightsister Silri. |

I have to say I enjoyed Galactic Battlegrounds way more than Empire at War. Ok, I am not bashing the game. For what it is and the way it was designed I am sure it's a great game. But, I am really looking for a Star Wars RTS that is a carbon copy to the design of Galactic Battlegrounds. I love harvesting resources, base building and defense. Making a fortress and turtling to the point where you are defending against wave after wave of enemy forces. I will have to try Empire at War again because I love Star Wars so much. Maybe I can enjoy this game in another way. I remember when I played WarHammer 40K Dawn of War for the first time, I felt the same way. But after a couple of times playing it I am now very good at it and Company of Heroes. Relic RTS games are the best RTS games I have ever played!!

The First One's land battles were really generic, only space battles were better

If you may believe the IGN review, Petroglyph fixed almost every point ppl disliked about the original and has put it in this expension.
So imo worth trying atleat right?

I have the same problem as Koliblank and it is not related to graphic driver. If someone find any solution please reply.

Try setting the executable to Windows 2000 Compatibility.
