I choose Xbox 360.
I think Microsoft's gonna work hard to make the XBOX 360 a winner this time. It seems we get a XBMC version buildt into the X360, and thats a smart move! OK, PS3 may get the best exclusives this time around as well, but there'll be tons of good titles on the XBOX 360 to satisfy me. Bottom line: If games was all that matters, I'd go for PS3, but I want it to be more than that.

A bit difficult to pick a console at this point. The Xbox360 is still the only one that has been shown to the public.
The Xbox360 looks tremendously powerful and if the games for that console will be as good as the original Xbox', then the Xbox360 will be a sound choice.
The PS3 will probably have a lot of great games too, Sony has proven itself with the previous two PlayStations.
I'd probably buy either the Xbox360 or the PS3, depending on which one is the most powerful
I'm not too sure about the new Nintendo console, since developers seem to be losing faith in Nintendo I've enjoyed my GameCube games more than my PS2 games, in fact Resident Evil 4 is the best console game to date But Nintendo games are getting scarce now, not a good sign

The console with the games I want, so kinda hard to pick right now. But since I'm a console-rpg junkie the ps3 is a safer bet than the new xbox or the new nintendo system.

There is no such thing as "no1". It's just something media use, it's pathetic.
The only thing they base that on is how many systems each console have sold, and most sold units do NOT make a system "no1" in my opinon, in this case the ps2.
I doubt sony will loose it's huge fanbase though, I mean it's really really really huge compared to microsoft and nintendo.
So I'm almost possitive that sony will have most units sold again, when this generation is over. But this does not make them "no1". "No1" shuld be based on what YOU think.

x360, couse the games i have grown to love on the xbox will continue on x360.
pgr3, halo3 and so on. seems like the games are focused towards gamers like me, that want a lot of mature action that looks nice. xbox live seems cool too.

It looks like the Xbox will have a fantastic library of games actually.
Remember the people in asia go through fads all the time, if the xbox proves to be technically innovative they'll buy it in droves, as evidenced by the playstations meteoric rise. They love their technology.
With the xbox's headstart I can see it being quite successful, although a headstart doesn't always mean a console will gain a larger fanbase, as evidenced by the dreamcast. But with microsofts financial support, I can't see it failing really.
But I can say for certain, that if the playstation 3 is technically inferior to the Xbox360 i'll definitely buy the xbox.

i ll get the ps3 most probably, well i cant say for sure at this point cuz first i have to check the line ups on all consoles, after all i m buying em for their games.
i m sure sony will have the better exlusives this time around too, add to that the fact that ps3's cpu is supposed to be alot faster than the x360 one,
as stated by various third party developers, so in that case the playstation would have the best hardware for the first time ever.
looks like a sure win at first sight but its needs to be considered that the x360 release is ahead the ps3 one, and that could prove to be a big hit to sony.
call them whatever you want, the masses are as dumb as theyre large in number, they ll buy whatever they get their hands on first, with microsofts heavy xbox360 ads on mtv aimed at the common man i already see alot of potential idiots jumping in right at the beginning, yes these are the same ppl who dload these ringtones.

The PS3 processor isn't supposed to be alot faster then the Xbox360's, if it is, it won't be by a very large margin.
Have you got a link to any of these statements by third party developers?

The PS2 was the hardest console to develop games for. If they use this CELL "sci-fi" hardware, mybe it'll be even harder to develop for? I'm just guessing here... But one thing is for sure, Microsoft do know how to make development software, though not as good dockumenting it!

That Cell CPU of the PS3 has got six cores, developers must be hiding under the bed already I don't think Sony will be beaten, they came out of nowhere in the console business, put SEGA out of business and kicked Nintendo's arse

Anyway, if Resident Evil 5 will be released on the Revolution, I'll buy that one for sure

Sorry, I don't have to choose just one, I will most likely end up with all of them... As to what I will buy first? Probably the XBox 360 seeing as how it will probably come out first.

None! I'll better waste that money on a PC upgrade.
About Hitman: Movie (2007)
Vin Diesel is a hardcore gamer, and absolutely loves the Hitman series. For that reason I have faith that he wont destroy the movie.
Response: Well, Uwe Boll probably loved the Alone in the Dark games.

Like sublime said - It's probably too early to count, or discount, nintendo's play in all this.
They have released no substantial information on the 'Revolution', they have a fairly large fan-base, and they're planning on releasing their system well after the launch of both the PS3 and XBOX360 (therefore, there is time for them to improve / steal their competitors designs).

I voted for Xbox360 cause that's the one I'm gonna buy first, being the only next generation console hitting the market this year.
And cause I'm a sucker for Sony, I'll end up buying their PS3 next year too.

Who knows what nintendo will do now. Just so far there hasnt been anything out there that will sway me to get a next gen nintendo. It truely has to be "revolutionary" and have good 3rd party support :/

well, nintendo is in big trouble if they don't come with something special!
Quote: | May 17, 2005 - New details regarding Nintendo's next-generation console, codenamed Revolution, have started to sprinkle onto the Internet. The machine, which will be revealed during Nintendo's pre-E3 2005 show on Tuesday morning in Los Angeles, will sport a slick, black design and a front blue light.
Revolution will be "two-to-three times more powerful than GameCube," according to Nintendo, which also acknowledges that the next-generation race isn't solely about new technologies. By contrast, Microsoft's Xbox 360 console is 13-15 times more powerful than the first, according to the publisher. And Sony says it's PlayStation 3 is roughly 35 times more powerful than PlayStation 2.
Nintendo also revealed that using Revolution's new Wi-Fi connection, gamers would be able to go online to a free gamer-matching service. Interestingly, in a move similar to Microsoft's Xbox Live Arcade service, Revolution users will be able to download classic and new Nintendo games over the Internet. Nintendo cited such examples as Donkey Kong and Super Mario Sunshine, which suggests that Revolutionaries could have access to games for all the publisher's previous consoles. |

Their handheld market share is great but their home console is far from good. They should make games for home consoles and keep hardware for the handheld market as they cant invest as much as sony and ms.

If that true about the systems power it's really rather pathetic.
It seems that the Xbox360 and PS3 won't be that far apart in terms of power, considering that the Xbox is already quite a bit more powerful then the PS2, so their 15x compared to the PS3's 35x isn't as far apart as it appears.
Nintendo is obviously out of the picture.

For me looks like that ps3 is nearly double the power of the x360
Nintendo must be revolutionary but I doubt to see many games on it as you will have to scale down alot from the xbox2/playstation 3 to get games running smoothly on the Rev
