"Techniclly speaking, Beta-Manboi didnt inject Burberry_Massi with Benz, he injected him with liquid that had air bubbles in it, which caused benz." - House M.D
"Faith without logic is the same as knowledge without understanding; meaningless"
dunno could be hit or miss for me
but I'm kinda concerned when I read stuff like this

Famitsu reviewer Paint Yamamoto, rated the game 9: "This is a game you learn how to play by losing -- you'll face sudden death frequently. But! Keep playing... and you'll realize how deep it really is. If you're looking to experience rich RPG elements, by all means play Demon's Souls!!."
Famitsu "casual" reviewer Maria Kichiji rated the game 6 "It's super-difficult... 'Souls' are needed for everything from shopping to power ups, and the entire game is unforgiving. Even worse, there are almost no hints. Demon's Souls is far too stoic... it's not a game for everybody."
now I just found out that the HK version of the game has english menues/voices so maybe it's worth an import
@tb have you played it? Or how do you know it's so good?
been there done that in Kingdom Under Fire Circle of Doom
and it was a boring crap pile, same here grind grind grind grind grind grind sell souls grind grind grind grind oh new sword grind grind grind grind grind etc..
the thing is you don't get why this game was so HYPED in Japan *cough*japsthinkitskingsfield5*cough*
lol @ no, I ordered mine from play-asia.com last week....I'll enjoy it, not like anything else coming out in the states is worth a damn. It's a gaming drought (as usual).

I imported the English version and it has been the best game purchase since Oblivion.
There are aspects to this title never previously introduced into any game, an example is that you can create scrolls as you adventure that other players can learn from, which when rated by players rewards you, a living walk-through as it were.
When you boot the game you are transparently connected to the Demons Souls servers where you learn from other players by their mistakes; avoid traps, ambushes and environmental hazards thanks to other players warnings written by them or by touching bloodstains of their demise which produces ghostly apparitions of the circumstances that killed them.
When you are faced with character creation, you think "OMG this is the worst game of the year!", there is a reason for this, the generic models were specifically made both brutish and course in the hope the player will invest time and effort in creating a personalized character.
Yes it is a difficult game, and no it's not for everyone, but if you want a game that both challenges and rewards you pick a copy up, you won't regret it.
Famitsu "casual" reviewer Maria Kichiji stated in his review that the game had few hints which shows you just how 'casual' a gamer he truly is in that the entire game is built around a interactive multi-player hint system!
Spiderman previously tried to connect Kingdom Under Fire to this game, suggesting that Demons Souls is similar to KOF is like arguing that Shaq Fu is like Virtua Fighter.
reminds me of those mmorpg games.. like spiderman says' run around for 20 mins (realtime) to get back to a point where you died, fight a few mobs here and there to make some gold, rinse repeat till you finally have enough to buy a pair of gloves. ad infinitum
The vid doesn't really do this game any justice, it just all looks a little dull to me... mmorpg mechanics minus the social aspect of those games. Then again I haven't played it so whadda I know!.
edit: that feature you mentioned about leaving in-game post-it notes is quite cool twobells.
"Much like a Western RPG, Demon's Souls is an extremely non-linear game. After you've cleared the game's first "real" dungeon, the game officially lets go of any semblance of distinct structure; your only objective is to rid the world of the Old One, and however you get there is entirely up to you."
To people who have only just begun or fail to get to grips with the game Demons Souls looks linear because they have not yet actually properly STARTED the game.

That review has sold the game for me. I can dig grinding if there are enough interesting elements within the gameplay.. and the inclusion of 3 player coop has just made the game much more enticing. Bastard hard is always welcome in this day and age of console gaming for kids..
question, just how custimizable is the character/items though and whats the level cap if there is one?.

Is the online region-locked, like many other PS3 games are? Me and my friend in the US might get this, but if we can't play online together, we probably won't.

Oh cool, I'll probably be getting an import of this then. I had read some comments on other forums saying that the game was highly restrictive. Obviously they hadn't got very far.

www.nadzproject.com is another site based in Thailand that is very reliable, and fast. They've had demon soul for a while now, it's 1,890b which I think converts to 35quid. The website is in english and thai and the boss speaks english if you need to speak to them.
I love a challenge, and this game seems to be just that. I also love the art direction, the game looks great from the video's that I've seen. Based on those 2 things alone I think that I'll have to purchase this game but I can wait until it gets to the EU officially and pick it up cheap.
Whether or not I'll find the gameplay to be deep and rewarding, or just plain repetative when going through the same areas over and over again or not remains to be seen.
Fuck it, I ordered it today as I've read that currently there are no plans to bring this game to Europe officially. Got it for 54 Euro's, free shipping so not too bad.
Remember when you get the game its a STEEP learning curve AND don't think you've seen a fraction of this CHALLENGING game after playing the first level.
What I mean by 'fraction' is not levels or cool bosses BUT entire new gaming elements that are only introduced after YOU put gaming time in, WILL you like it?
Well, I hate to keep dying but i LOVE it when new concepts are introduced and the plot unfolds leading you deeper into IT's depths..
Off topic: Just looking at this game reminds me of Enclave on the xbox 1. It's a diffent type of game sure, but there's something about it that reminds me of it. Enclave was another game that was VERY unforgiving. I might try play through that again at some point aswell because I gave up on it when I was almost at the end and that's something that I've regretted since.

Yeah I do see the connection, Enclave was a good game, the difference is with DS is that it really gets under your skin, I can't remember when I last was lying in bed or while at work trying to figure a way of beating the game it's that addictive!
