Again, take these with your usual salt lick, as none of this has been confirmed by Capcom, nor has RE8 even been confirmed to be in development.
According to Dusk (who also released info regarding the rumours of Konami and Silent Hill), RE8 had been in development since 2016, but had the project had been scrapped roughly 7 months ago and was in the process of being completely reworked.
Then, on Biohazard Declassified’s tipline email, they received an email with more info on the supposed RE8 development. According to the sender (and again, these are still unconfirmed), the game will feature the following: |

• Resident Evil 8 was tested last year.
• It will not be called Resident Evil 8, but will have a “clever title”
• The game will be in First-person like RE7.
• Gameplay starts in a village leading up to a castle.
• The environment will be rural, snowy, and mountainous; possibly Europe.
• Regular zombies will be appearing instead of the Molded from RE7.
• There is a persistent shadowy “female” enemy that will follow you but will dissipate if shot.
• There are also wolf-like creatures that will attack the player in certain areas.
• Chris Redfield will also be returning in some capacity. |

If they know the title, why not share it.
If they don't know it, how do they know it's going to be clever.

What's the point? It's not like he had any character and should be disposed off since he served his purpose in RE7

- No one cares about him, I agree, but he didn't have a character because he was a player avatar (same principles behind their decision to go for first person and VR). If they are still going for that sort of thing, might as well bring him back instead of introducing another blank avatar.
- Or, they can decide to give him a character this time around, especially since RE is now back for good and they don't have to do the "barely reference RE lore as to not confuse new players as we soft-reboot the series" thing, and also, it's possible there won't be VR at all this time around (or maybe there will, who knows?, I'm just saying I haven't heard of Capcom making any recent VR games at all).

I just hope it will be an atmospheric slow-paced survival horror like RE7 was, it would be a shame if Capcom decided to join the #novax#serumfree gang and catch the Hollypear again. The s̶k̶e̶l̶e̶t̶o̶n̶s̶ zombies of the past must stay in the closet forever

Urgh. I hated the title they used for RE7  Call it "Biohazard 7" in Asia and "Resident Evil 7" in the West, but "RESIDENT EVIL 7 Biohazard" or "BIOHAZARD 7 - Resident Evil" was just ridiculous. |
I loved this naming.
I think RE7 was the best that could happen to the series.
-8 hours, it's like you finish the story in real time. If you start it late afternoon you would finish it around 4-5AM in the morning just like in the game.
-The story is really good
-The house/graphics are awesome. |

And hopefully it will stick more closely to the base instead of the garbage DLC

Hopefully the house/main set piece section is longer in RE8. I always thought RE7 went downhill when the boat section started. |
