When is The Sandman shooting?

The Sandman will be filmed in the area surrounding Toronto, ON in early 2018 with a release in late fall.

What pre production is currently happening?

The team is currently working on finalizing casting and selecting shooting locations.

Have any of the Indiegogo funds been used?

The only money that have been used to date out of the Indiegogo funds are to facilitate the manufacturing of perks. The remaining funds have been divided between the projected costs of creating all remaining perks and what can be used towards the production budget of the film.

Quote:
“THE SANDMAN tells the story of a young student in the city who struggles to forget their childhood trauma at the hands of the serial killer dubbed ‘The Sandman’. As a child the student killed The Sandman years ago, on Christmas Eve, after witnessing the murder of their mother. This memory is repressed until they see the beautiful woman who lives in the apartment across the way dying at the hands of that same masked killer. We follow our protagonist to find out who is the real killer. This is a story of voyeurism and obsession and is a direct homage to Giallo films of the past.”

Will we ever be able to watch it? Who knows. It hasn't been cancelled, IMDB says TBD.

I still think Opera is one of his best films but some of the more recent ones just were not that good. You have to wonder if whole MeToo thing with his daughter Asia Argento is one of the big reasons this film seems to have gone no where.

I prefer the classics. Profondo Rosso (Deep Red), Suspiria, Tenebrae and Phenomena. The 90'ies and 2000's sucked as far as his films are concerned (compared to earlier works). The only "modern" Argento movie I liked was No Ho Sonno (Sleepless) with an amazing intro theme track by Claudio Simonetti and a somewhat tired Max von Sydow.
