Yeah you're right now that I re-checked, my mistake.
(Still I guess the retail version or whatever they've used must have used something else than Tages digital activation, will have to check that as well.)

Using a nice little mini-image (from you know where), it is easy to stay up to date with patches and whatnot. Never been a problem for me staying current with the mini-image.

I own NWN2 and still use that mini-image. It's very handy to have.
As for MoW, as much as the DRM sucks (and it does) and blablablabla. I would encourage people to buy it. It is cheap after all and content wise/playtime it is an *extremely* good deal when compared to other DLCs for various games. And it's a fun campaign as well.
If I'm gonna spend money, it'll always be for the smaller companies like Ossian who are fairly new at it, and who still have the will to create a decent RPG.

^I agree with that, I would've felt bad to pirate a 10€ game by a small rpg developer.

Ossian isn't fairly new.
Also they've already been paid.
I'm not paying Atari any cash for delaying the damn thing for like a year after it was finished.

Pirating this should help ease the pain i have from the DRM crap that is on Riddick.
EDIT: 6 hours and it still hasn't found its way to private trackers..

They are fairly new in the sense that they've only released one game/mod prior to this, and that project ended up being free in the end.

Yes they have. But if MoW doesn't sell, it lowers the probability of publishers taking them on later on. Just getting paid isn't the only thing needed for a game developer to survive. Being attractive to publishers is important.

Won't argue this with you since it's a fair point. However, the question is whether a publisher would see low sales as a result of their DRM or simply that there is no audience for the particular game/genre provided. Knowing how stupid publishers can be, well...

They're already working on another NWN project as posted on the MoW forum months ago.

Does this require the expansions too? Or would buying only the original game suffice?

EDIT: Should explain that the game doesn't need MotB or SoZ but supports both expansions if they are present.

Short hands on preview:
* EXCELLENT VOICE-ACTING! I'm amazed that such small projects (as this is) have the budget for so good voice-actors (and writers). The characters (I'm only early in the game thus far) seem as well-written as Mask of the Betrayer, and for anyone who has played that - this is very high praise.
* EXCELLENT ATMOSPHERE/STORY! *MINI-SPOILER* the characters have received a cursed mask that while used give power, but at the same time great weakness (MoTB *choke* *choke). There is a grander story here, and the game definitely has the drive and red thread required. Excellent story-telling.
* You start at Level 8. I could import my character from previous games, but that was just so ridiculously overpowered for this game, that I recommend creating a new character. There are three followers that I've met thus far. But I'm sure there are more. I sense that there are many different paths to take, as always I have picked 'Velsharoon' and Chaotic Neutral-alignment. There is definitely content to match thus far. I'm not disappointed.
I can't say anything about the length of the campaign as I'm only a few hours ago (and I play meticulously). NWN-fans will like this, I'm sure.
I also think fisk should be unbanned.

Pretty simple question lads, but does anyone know if main NWN2 game and all released expansions are available as a 'box set' ? Prefeably in a nice shiny tin? I have done a bit of searching on Amazon U.K etc but can only find them as seperate purchases.
Thanks

I only know of the Gold set, which is NWN2 and the first expansion bundled. That's the one I have, then I bought the second expansion seperately.

I just found the cpy release, it's working fine.
But what is weird is that it doesn't seem to be cracked. When starting the module for the first time I had to let it connect to the authentication server or else it wouldn't start.
So the question is, why does it pass the online authentication check? They delayed it for month just because of the copy protection.

What happens if it connects a few more times then? blacklisted serial or something?
(Similar to some early SecuROM clones which also used online verification or the recent release of Riddick.)
I guess that if it activates then it'll work but unless it's been modified or cracked somehow it'll probably not work for long.
(Depends on how many people activate with it, assuming there's some cd-key information in it though if it wasn't and if it also wasn't cracked then activation shouldn't work.)

It's a one time online activation when starting the module for the first time, after that there are no more authentication checks. This is also how it's explained in the readme.
Every key should be limited to 3 activations, maybe there's something fucked up with their activation system.

Seems to be blacklisted now according to a PM I got, guess it'll be fully confirmed once the release is spread a bit more but it was somewhat expected as the activation system still triggered when trying to play. (Based on a post a bit up.)
Those who have it activated are probably still OK however any future activations won't work with this current serial until someone either cracks or bypasses the online verification (SecuROM?).

So if I do buy the module, will it be fine with my pirated copy of the original game?
