ASUS Z170 PRO GAMING (Latest BIOS)
Intel 6700K + Thermaltake Frio OCK
Corsair LPX 2x16GB DDR4 3200mhz CL16
GIGABYTE RTX 2070 Super White
Corsair AX860 PSU 80+Platinum
2 SSDs + 1 HDD (1 SSD OS, 1 SSD Backup, 1 HDD save stuff)Months ago i did an XMP auto profile (Profile 1 on the BIOS) with a previous RAM kit of Crucial BALLISTIX with the same specs as the actual Corsair ones, but 3000mhz and the RAM worked at 3000mhz without issues for a time (Without XMP it ran at 2400mhz, but the Mobo can only run 2133mhz no XMP, wich was weird)
Until one day the system wouldn't boot to W10's desktop. So i tried to reset the BIOS or even disable XMP. The system returned to normal without issues and lasted for months.
A couple of weeks ago i tried again the auto-XMP profile thing and that's when one of the 2 RAM Sticks DIED. Only 1 would work no matter if on Slot A2 or B2. So i ordered the Corsair kit above. Then i updated W10 to the May Update and that's when the issues started.. That, or the last XMP profile did some kind of "burning or making the RAM slots unstable".
BSODs everywhere. +20 BSODs photos captured, with the most common one being "CRITICAL PROCESS DIED"... Among other caps text ones, but this last one would be the most.
I tried doing a memtest on the RAMs and after 5 minutes with the test started they threw me +12k errors, cancelling the test. BRAND NEW RAM!. So i removed the RAM, CMOS Battery reset. 5mins of waiting and put it all back in. Put the memtest again with both sticks and after 3h (2 passes) NO ERRORS. I even did 1 pass with just 1 stick on slot A2 and then with the other stick on B2. NO ERRORS?!
So i thought of formatting the PC but using the actual latest Media Creation Tool 1909 version. I did so and installed all of the updates from WUpdate. NO XMP STILL. Everything went fine until the system crashed again 4 days after. Another BSOD galore. Format again because, again, i can't reach the desktop and all of Google's solutions requires the desktop, and even without the desktop solutions it wouldn't repair any errors, nor via CMD, nor restore point, etc.. Me being the only person in the planet with this issue.
I've investigated and it seems that since 4 days ago a WUpdate by the name of KB4556799 . More info here https://www.forbes.com/sites/gordonkelly/2020/05/21/microsoft-windows-10-warning-crashes-bsod-chrome-browser-slowdown-gaming-problems-upgrade-windows-10-free/#330a89914bc2
I thought "This could be the issue!" and i formatted the PC once again, installed all the updates THEN uninstalled the one above yesterday... This afternoon the PC BSOD'd on me again out of nowhere (While browsering Firefox the tabs started saying "There's been an error" and that's ALWAYS a sign of BSOD incoming... And it happened. The same BSOD of CRITICAL PROCESS DIED among system files lost.. Not even W10's Bootable USB's Repair mode can't repair a thing. Forcing you to format
Heck, there was one time when i tried to clean install W10 again, i've formatted the SSD and before i clicked on install a BSOD appeard saying it missed files... How can it miss files on the SSD if the SSD has been formatted?!
I've been searching with the phone for possible solutions and some people with similar problems and situations (Can't reach the desktop at all) ended up being told that "The motherboard has died".
Does that means that the 2nd time i tried to XMP the board, it killed the RAM Slots?...The problem is that the PC will die every 24h no matter what i do.
Memtest?..No memory errors with the above methods
SSD?.. How can i find out if my SSD is broken??...
Motherboard dying because of stupid XMP?
I NEED HELP!.. Do i need to change my motherboard CPU and CPU Cooler to see if it works out?. I'd go with an X570 RYZEN 3700x at minimum, with a CPU Cooler that's not the RYZEN one. (Wich one ya recommend for non OCing?)
Right now i'm using the same 1909 Bootable installation but PAUSED the W10 Updates to prevent them from being installed (to discard the possibility that it's their issue).. However, everytime i installed W10 with that last bootable USB version it auto-installed Nvidia drivers and an Intel Chipset. I even tried to disable driver installations by W10 itself , uninstalled the ones there, then reboot, then install the MoBo ones, but i think it auto-reinstalled the drivers themselves from W10 and not the disc.. It's very confusing.

I would go with the motherboard being at fault. Only thing I can think of that you haven't tried would be to unplug anything you don't need to run your PC, put just one RAM module in a slot and test to see if you get any BSOD's. You could then try with another slot and see if something is going on there.
Probably the best thing is to save yourself some time and replace it. Buy from Amazon where you can send it back if needed. Or do what you said and go for a full upgrade.

Well, i think i might've found the culrpit this time.
.....The new RAM.....
I've been told that that Corsair kit i got, if it has the 4.32 version, they're told to give a ton of BSODs. Sadly i have that version
So i used the survivor white stick from the Crucial mentioned above (Slot B2) and... The PC Boots again without BSODs...So i guess i've found the culprit!
I've still got the box and everything that came with the Corsair kit and it'd be ready to send back to the PCComponentes site i bought it from..Aka get a refund.
However, i want the 32GB of RAM back again. The question is the following: Would this RAM work on my PC, even if it's not in the QLV?.
This is the RAM i am looking for https://www.pccomponentes.com/crucial-ballistix-3200-ddr4-32gb-2x16gb-cl16-negro
Crucial Ballistix 3200 DDR4 32GB 2x16GB CL16 Black
BL2K16G32C16U4B
As someone said on another place:
"Older Crucial used Micron B-die or D-die usually, and although they didn't scale with voltage over 1.35v I've never heard of them dying from too much voltage either. Most ram is safe up to 1.4-1.45v. Sometimes more.
Newer Crucial uses Micron E-die and its really good ram that scales up 1.5v safely even. If you can get 2x16 ballistix 3200, that's one of the better value options. "
I've copied the code above (below the RAM's title) and pasted it on Google and the Crucial site came up. It detected my Mobo correctly and whenever i filtered the results (2x16, 3200mhz) the same model appeard. So i should be safe. (It's not listed in the 2017 QVL from ASUS tho)
What do you say?
EDIT: Ok, 2nd culprit found... Somehow Channels A1 and A2 from the motherboard won't boot up with my survived RAM stick... Motherboard's half dead.

Back then i bought a Crucial BALLISTIX White 2x16GB DDR4 3000mhz that wasn't in the QVL from ASUS (2017) but the Crucial site had it listed back then as compatible with my motherboard that was auto-detected by the site (Same serial number etc) and worked without issues.
So i thought of getting a Crucial BALLISTIX Black with the same specs or 3200mhz even, wich is listed as compatible on Crucial's site

something tells me u just have some fishy mem settings in ur bios and if u do a default bios reset or bios reflash everything will work again
have u tested the memory at a friends ?
i had a 15y old computer that all of a sudden wouldnt boot with two sticks in, only one, then i swapped sticks a bit around and booted few times, did some cmos resets, replaced bios battery and all of a sudden it boots again with two sticks as if nothing happened
most importantly check the voltage ur memory needs and what ur mobo is giving it, undervolting will cause errors

Slots A1 and A2 DIED due to XMP.

which sounds like something a not very experienced pc builder would say yes sorry to say but extremely unlikely
xmp can not provide more voltage then what the board is capable off and tested to safely deliver, it can kill the sticks very very maybe, but the actual ram slots, nope
u need to go back to the drawing board and determine on a friends pc if ur ram sticks are really broken, and then reset ur bios/cmos and try with one stick at a time to see what happens
ram is more delicate then just the voltage and mhz alone, the timings determine stability aswel
RAS CAS TRAS TRC commandrate settings all play a role in bsods and/or errors

I think, due to the level of troubleshooting already done, it's a safe bet to say the mobo has an issue.
