Man those Ryzen 4xxx series are kicking butt on laptops, very nice performance. How is the trackpads these days on windows laptops? still shitty like always? Guess we will never get same kind of trackpad like in macbooks, wonder why.
The Ryzen is indeed kicking butt in the laptop department, big time! Only thing putting me off is the 14" screen, a bit small, but I could get used to it, and the silver look inside, but it does come in grey also, apparently Fans are reported to be a tad loud also @ load, but it's expected. Superb hardware in such a small device.
I never use a trackpad on any lappy, I just plug in the mouse from the off
A few are also moaning about the lack of a QHD screen on the top version, which incidentally, is only 60Hz, a strange decision?, but I am happy with that, as I really don't want a 2560x1440 res on a 14" screen with my eyes lol!! Rather have the 120Hz 1080p thank you.
14 inch is tiny but saves battery power, and u can always hook up a tv or whatever, im super happy with my 400 eur 3500u with touchscreen
its igpu is good enough for games on low, no way im paying 300 eur more just to add a shitty 1050ti, nvidia is such a rip off ..., its so retarded the price goes up by 250+ euros just for an obselete dedicated gpu
Loving it! Got yesterday Fortress Grey version. Does run hot, but what doesn't now? lol
Main system upgraded to 3950X also, and that is one beast to keep cool, more so in this hot weather ATM.
AMD is HOT, literally, lol, and air cooling just ain't gonna cut it, so just know that before stepping in Few probs with x570 Aorus board, but all good though
the hottest part of my laptop feel wize is the ssd, like i cant hold the underside of the laptop where the sdd sits when it has been doing a lot of stuff like patching or whatever, like 45-50 degrees through the plastic, pretty crazy, cpu area is less warm lol
sadly none of these laptops are a steal from my pov as ur paying 600-800 usd extra purely for these nvidia cards in them when u compare the prices and also counting the fact that the mobile gpus are not as close anymore to the desktop variants as they used to be.
I just bought this laptop yesterday. 2060 version was on sale for just $1200. Quite a steal to be honest.
Should be delivered tomorrow.
Be warned. They are a bastard to open The NVme drive needs replacing as the one installed only runs @ limited bandwidth, hence my reason for opening. There are 3 philips screws under the rear rubber foot at back, which also needs removing first, and when you do, it will stretch out of shape, causing it to not fit back in place. The other rubber foot (at front back) does not need to be removed, but the 2 torx screws below it do. You will need about 6-8 plastic spudgers to prise the case apart, not helped by the fact there are no gaps to insert them into. It's a challenge, and if you use anything other than plastic, the case will certainly be damaged.
I called HP support, and they were kind enough to send me a replacement rubber foot, in fact both of them, shipped FedEx Express at no cost the next day. Excellent service from HP!!
I also redone the heatsink paste on CPU/GPU while I had it open, as this thing runs toasty hot
