Looks very good. I liked hot pursuit. Fast racing in nature with police pursuits. Not some shitty city or "cool" underground shit. I hope they won't fuck it up, might be a first good NFS after a decade or so (since NFS Porsche).
@tolanri
Well, considering how this is an open world game again, I am pretty confident it will be in a city again.
I just saw a trailer and gameplay, both shown tracks in nature environments. You could drive through city in hot pursuit IIRC, but it wasn't a whole track in city...
@Hfric
Shift was actually very good, and modding is now promising to keep it a live for a long time.
shift was the only good game OUT THERE it EVEN BEAT THE SHIT OUT OF FORZA
but now
they
use the engine from shift and go.... underground AGAIN ppphhffff meh with let me guess another poser smug story about tough life in the HOOD ....why not make a NFS in the FUTURE , be original like Shift was then going back to the shit plain "we will sell 3bilion copies derp formula if we add Ze Streetz in da HOOD"
@Hfric
They are not using the engine from Shift, Criterion are using their own Burnout engine for this (of course, the Shift engine is much superior to this - both in look and simulation).
@djaoni
Meh, I was hoping EA got past the retarded Boat for Speed phase, but noooo, they have to bring this shit again for console derps.
"Wooo cops with nitro, so cool!!"
"Wooo suspect car explodes, that means he's in custody!!"
-----------
Anyway, is this even for PC?

This week, we’re announcing our Need for Speed game for Xbox 360® and PlayStation®3 and it’s out in November.
I've watched the gameplay video that lolozaur posted. It could be fun, but it's not my kind of game. I've already played Burnout Paradise (PC) for enough hours to say that pure arcade racers produce in me an incredibly quick increase of the boring factor.
I know one of the guys working on this. He's been raving about how awesome it is so its good to finally see a bit of information coming out! Personally I've got high hopes, if not, I'll go beat my friend down until he helps fix it .

My biggest worry is rubberband ai. If it weren't for that I would've probably loved nfs most wanted. Apart from that I have high hopes for this, exotic cars, nice looking tracks, we'll see.
Looks like the original Hot Pursuit vs Most Wanted.. which in my case is AWESOME.. but EA have broken our hopes so many time that I'll remain skeptical until I've tried it out myself.

Start beating him already. I don't mind Arcade racers, and this definitely won't be anywhere near as good as Shift, but this better not be like Split Second and Blur, where brakes aren't needed, cars can corner at 300 kph and it's more like playing pinball than actual racing :E

Have you played Burnout Paradise? It's exactly like that.
