The final game of the trilogy.

Hitman III is the dramatic conclusion to the World of Assassination trilogy. Agent 47 is back as a ruthless professional for the most important contracts of his entire career. Death Awaits.

Glad that Agent 47's murderous journey around the globe will keep going for one more ride, the new formula has its own share of questionable decisions but it still offers quality stealth and sandbox-y panthering, which are rare ingredients these days.

Here's hoping the level design will be inspired, Hitman 2016 S02 was already rather remarkable in that regard. A complete offline experience that isn't gimped would be nice too, but maybe that would be too much to ask!

Personally, I hate the new formula they opted for the series. Here's a checklist of 20 different ways to kill the target - now replay the same level 20 times and do them all. This is a method of recycling content and adding grind that almost puts Ubisoft's open world antics to shame.

I miss Bloodmoney. Sad

This...times 10.

Don't get me wrong, I don't mind replaying missions just to try new things, but I would want to do it on my terms, not some checklist.

The first thing that I always do before playing these games is turn off most of the HUD elements and especially all the various hints/suggestions that tell you how to kill the targets, spoiling opportunities and taking away the thrill of actually discovering things by yourself.

With no handholding you're forced to listen to in-game dialogues and study the various clues/patterns, leading to some satisfying eureka moments. And since the progression does suck indeed, grabbing an offline save with all the items already unlocked definitely makes things interesting for second or third playthroughs where you can just do experiments and tinker with the AI. The default structure sadly is silly, but thankfully one can still circumvent it and play the way these games are meant to be played.

I've replayed Blood Money so many times though.

I think where the current Hitman games went horribly wrong is wanting you to play the game in a very specific and awkward way that isn't fun.

The other huge thing is that if they are going to have XP needed for unlocks, I should get that XP every time I play, so I can choose how I want to play instead of following their boring suggestions.

I think the true test was Blood Money's "A New Life" and how many times I replayed a small simple map, and then the similar modern level in Hitman 2 which I've only ever played a few times and I found it very tedious to do that I don't bother.

We’re happy and excited to announce that we are partnering with Intel to provide the best possible performance and optimization for our PC players in HITMAN 3.

Together with Intel, we are working to optimize the game for launch and beyond, with updates, tweaks and improvements coming throughout 2021 that will improve the experience of playing on a high-end PC and multi-core CPUs.

These optimizations include enhancing HITMAN 3 for PC players with 8+ core CPUs, for example you’ll be able to spot more crowds in Dubai or experience more complex destructibility in Dartmoor. We’re also introducing Variable Rate Shading (VRS), a technique that allows us to prioritize GPU resources where they have the biggest impact. On top of that, we will also implement Ray Tracing after the launch of the game, later in 2021.

What that means is that they will compile this manure with icc, which produces broken results on purpose on non-Intel CPUs. Laughing
