Total War™: WARHAMMER® will take the award-winning PC strategy series to a realm of epic high fantasy for the first time.
Our rules have changed, and with change comes war on a scale as yet unimagined.
Gigantic monsters, flying creatures, legendary heroes and storms of magical power take their place on the battlefield, alongside thousands of warriors clashing in real-time tactical battles. All at YOUR command.
In the turn-based campaign game of statecraft & empire building, you will find the Old World an unforgiving and treacherous place, filled with endless war and cunning alliances alike. Whichever race you choose to play as and however you seek conquest, you will be faced with a conflict that threatens to tear the very fabric of reality asunder.

After months of rumors Sega and Creative Assembly have confirmed what was already a open secret: the successful strategy series Total War will center its action on the Warhammer fantasy universe, as the fans of the franchise had been asking for.
It will do it as a trilogy that will be formed by other two standalone games, and additional content packs in order to create, as said by the game makers, "the vastest Total War series until date"
Total War: Warhammer marks as well the incursion of the series, for the first time in its history, on a fantasy world, which will obviously modify the rules of combat. Gigantic monsters, flying creatures, legendary heroes and storms of magical power will take place in this videogame that promises "hours and hours of gameplay" thanks to its turn based campaign, tactic battles and other mechanic elements trademark of the series.
"We've been always fascinated by the Warhammer universe and we were dying to do such a colossal and authentic game as the ones that have been doing these last fifteen years." affirmed the Total War: Warhammer project chief, Ian Roxburgh. "We're going to recreate it as it has never been done before"
This new strategy game will release "soon" on PC, Mac and SteamOS.

At least they went to the right guys for such a game this time. I don't see anyone else pulling off something like this in an at least acceptable fashion.
And yet... AI is gonna suck, politics and economy gonna suck and so on.
Well, Total War was built on a tradition of historical eras, and we’ll continue to do exactly that. Total War: Warhammer is being developed in parallel with our historical titles by a dedicated team.

Don't think factions, think races. In Total War: WARHAMMER you’ll have four races to choose from, Greenskins, The Empire, Dwarfs and Vampire Counts. Each race has a legendary lord character , who is the leader of a faction within your chosen race.

The races in Warhammer are massively different in variation and content compared to factions we’ve depicted in our games before. Given the huge variety in creatures, characters and machines in the Warhammer world, we’ve decided to go deep rather than wide. We’ll be putting as much unit and content variation as we can into the main game to best represent the incredibly detailed races we’ve chosen first. To compare, ATTILA has 6 model skeletons underlying all the units used in the game (human, horse, elephant, dog, etc). In Total War: WARHAMMER, there’s 24 in the first game alone, each representing a different creature or machine type.
warhammer fans are gonna be massively dissapointed, the warscape total war engine is total shit and almost 10 years old by now and they SUCK DONKYDICK at making ingame movies with any good storyline or narrative, just look at rome 2 and atilla movies, horsecrap
not to mention they have no cue about gore and good looking gfx anymore these days
So wh arent anybody saying anything about how terribly this series is being milked? No one here fails mentioning it for any other game series which is being milked just as much or even less.

Let's hope it's at least brutal and looks flashy
You bet they will! But I'm not even mad
@Stormwolf: Haha, well it's just that after approximately 10 million Warhammer-licensed games gone to waste because of poor decision making, this is finally something to look forward to.
When life gives you green pears, you can make Mountain Dew but it still sucks
No power armors, heavy bolters, power swords, cockney speaking orks, dreadnoughts, wraithbone constructs, "space commies", religious nutjobs throwing the exterminatus card on every other planet...

Nop, no. Especially not with this title that looks to be the first total war game to do things differently xD

You already got that in the excellent Dawn of War series. Warhammer Fantasy did not have a good game since Dark Omen
Signature/Avatar nuking: none (can be changed in your profile)
