I’m not sure I completely understand but it sounds horrible.

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

I originally cracked a bit of my molar off several years ago. The dentist fixed it by filling it in and putting a crown over top of it. Like a cap. A crown holds the tooth together after it’s been fixed.

The discomfort wasn’t immediate, but I fucked up the tooth and now I have to get it fixed. It’s going to be expensive. I have a shit dental plan. I don’t even know how they fix it. I didn’t know it was possible to crack a tooth already crowned.

I’m not in a lot of pain right now...but I will be if I don’t get it fixed.

Depends.

If you had root canal before they'll just fill it up again and put a new crown on it (since it usually can't be reused). If you have sufficient tooth structure left to hold the crown you won't need a crown-root inlay or core buildup.
They might also do another root canal, since while there's no pulp anymore, the tissue underneath a tooth can get infected.

If you previously only chipped the enamel but the tooth hurts now you'll need a root canal first.

No root canal before. No previous big damage.

So you think my chances are they will just root canal it and throw on a new crown.

I’ll be getting off easy if it’s that.

I’m so fucking scared that that they are going to pull it out and I’ll need a bloody implant. Those are like thousands of dollars....... my appointment is on the 10th.

It really fucking sucks. I thought I was slightly ahead of the game killing my self with overtime....I thought I might be able to breath....
