Drova - Forsaken Kin

Drova is an Action-RPG that marries the dark grim tones of its genre with the mysticism of Celtic mythology. Encounter a society where ancient restless spirits and divided factions battle for dominance. Uncover forgotten abilities and unravel the secrets of a past shrouded in mystery.

There's four (or is it technically six?), so it's a gaggle, not a bunch! Sorry geese! Laughing

Meh I'll give it a shot.
EDIT: From the video, some of it also reminds me of ELEX, especially filing the meter with attacks in order to unleash a speshul attack.

haha, so everyone is just their normal self, so what fucking purpose does it even serve, in case there's a transition? is it there in case someone is interested in dating them and want to know if they have a dick or not? derps.

Looks great to be honest. Will play when I have the time.

Always wondered why the "Gothic genre" never has been done right by a big dev for a AAA title.
It's all soulslike nowdays. A lot of people like this stuff though.

This isn't gonna change things sadly, hardly anyone is playing this it seems with a legit copy.

Hopefully the upcoming remake will use the "Gothic genre" template, but it would be sadly kind of funny if it turned out they make it more soulslike Laughing Crying or Very sad

As for this, not a great start... can't bind left shift and ingame v-sync isn't working.

I've been playing it, pretty good so far and the gothic DNA is pretty strong in this one.
Down to those pesky "do a quest -> congrats now you're in Chapter 2" that piss me off, make me load an earlier save so I can explore the world thoroughly before the next chapter begins

Wait, so a quest without telling you will lock you out of content?

That is good to know. It's been a lifetime since last i played gothic so i don't remember Laughing

I'm not sure you'll get locked out of anything per se, but I'm assuming that there are changes to the worldspace/worldstate between chapters so I don't want that until I'm ready.

I think only one place gets locked out because of plot reasons, and another is inaccesible if you join one of the two camps, so overall it feels like Gothic.
Exploration is great, there absolutely will be something nice to find if you go off the beaten track, quests are fine, wilth multiple options to solve them, the game is hard and does not hold your hand (you can skip tutorial messages), and if you're really, really careful with some skill you can clear the whole map in chapter 1 (like Gothic Smile ).

No idea about wokeness, but there's no sitting around the campfire in forced support for your they/them dragonman (or being punished with pushups for misgendering it)

I bought it after trying the isodemo.

3h in, it's decent, not great. I do think i enjoy these games in 3D way more.

No climbing, jumping, swiming, i do really hate that in so called open world games. It's a bit of a puzzle / maze game since you can't go over objects. you can sometimes walk a bit in the water and sometimes not, no way of knowing, invisible walls everywhere.

I love how it LOOKS, but not a huge fan of how it plays.

It might be great for people that enjoy 2D games, though...

I can't quite see the Gothic similarities, but I do like the game, I've played it for a few hours now

It seems like it has good progression, enemy variety, decent combat for a pixel game from this viewpoint, and the writing isn't bad at all
