Taken from their mIRC channel (and said by the devs on their forums quite a few times) on Quakenet (#showw2):

Quote:
Welcome to the offical Soldiers - HOWWII IRC channel. Soldiers releases stores near you 2nd July

I for one will be waiting at the EBWorld the day this comes in and will get my copy as soon as they open the freight. I've been following it over at their forums. People are already making mods just from the content provided in the demo. Very mod friendly game it seems and the original game, judging by the demo and every bit of media taken of it, will rock just as hard. 4 player co-op and up to 16 player multiplayer battles.

The developers are also very involved with supporting and conversing with the community too from what I've seen first hand.

I don't normally like these kinds of games, but the demo for this was really good.

Can anyone else recommend any other games similar to this that I should check out? I was thinking of Commandos 3, but I hear its impossibly difficult and not new player friendly. Was also thinking of Silent Storm. Any other suggestions?

Thanks for suggestions...I've heard Desert Rats AI isnt too good, so think I might skip that one. Blitzkrieg: Burning Horizon is due any day now, so think I'll check that out. Will try Silent Storm when I can...found I was missing 1 file from CD2 unfortunately, last night when I tried to unpack it.

btw

Silent Storm is not really like Soldiers or blitzkrieg

it's more of a Jagged Alliance

Sure i'll buy it.. For strange reason, sure i DON'T want to download this game... I think it's some kind of game that worth the buy, those ppl did a good job and merit our money.

That's my 3 cents.

No offense to anyone (not directed at anyone here), but people who complain about games being too hard are pussies who want victory to be given to them with minimal effort. Still 84% is a good score by anyones standards I think we can all agree. PC Zone gave it 90%.

Panzers is a different game, published by CDV and developed by StormRegion. Soldiers is published by Codemasters and developed by Best Way.

Goot.. its not the same as panzers.. same type of game but actually very very different in the way they play (This is alot more realistic than panzers for example)

usually i hate those type of games, they grow weary after a while, but this one looks better in any aspect so maybe it's a buy. i guess i'll wait for your reviews first. something tells me i can't count on pcgamer/pczone/gamer crap etc for objective reviews. too much money involved Very Happy
