Well.... you can't commit homicide, but you CAN fall asleep at the wheel and possibly end up losing control, smashing into other cars on the road You'll get epically fined by the pigs... but I guess you could always roleplay that you killed a car full of orphans out on a daytrip and had to pay restitution to the orphanage
there was one truck game I played when i got my first computer (D2/BG2 demo release time period) and there was some truck game I got from download.com before it started to suck majorly. You could upgrade your driver seat and shit. I actually had fun playing it lol

Yes, much. Those niche simulators aren't even in the same league as SCS titles, which are proper games in their own right. I recommend picking up UK Truck Simulator or Euro Truck Simulator if you want to see what they're like
Well, has there ever been a proper simulation game then? I've tried a lot and they were all crap.
If all goes well ETS2 will be a proper simulation.
Scania Truck Driving Simulatior is some sort of precursor of ETS2 engine.
And it turns out to be the first game in the SCS Trucksim's serie where you actually feel like driving a beast of metal rather than a Formula one car disguised.

I am into all sort of simulations thingies, but you are right most of them are really disappointing, I mean all thoses streetcleaning, garbage truck, etc might be fun to try but they are far to be fun because of bad handling/physics.
There are 2 which I still played a lot : Farming Simulator 2011 (actually well done) and Demolition company (has interseting physics and it's fun)

ETS2 has been on there a day.. not to mention Valve already said the votes are not set at the moment, it's just to gauge the actual interest and then they'll start tweaking the "positive votes required" as needed.
I presume every game has to reach 100% before it gets into the pending/review process, but at the moment the scores don't matter as Valve are still tweaking -- AND! the "percentages" at the moment actually fluctuate depending on how many titles are on Greenlight. Project Zomboid got up to 13% the one day, then slowly dropped as new games were added.
1. release date: amazon.de and gamesload.de both are listing it for the 13th of november BUT these are german release dates and tbh I didn´t check the english release. If there are different release dates shame on me ^^
2. about greenlight: ok that´s strange. I can´t find the game under: "rated" or whatever it is called on engl. client AND i can´t find it under "to rate". It only appears under "search all games".
