All right we went from full blast blm to full asian hate boom
I guess hate crimes in general en the us are widespread, but since a week ago all we get is asian atacks videos, mugging, violent acts etc, it seems the media/social networks found a new love for asian abuse, holy shit even karen videos have dimmed, its just old asian atack videos, new ones
But im wondering, after seeing so many new videos, are people just paying attention or are cunts reeeaaalllyyy starting to hate and abuse asians due to recent news? Im voting for it being exposure but jesus its really blown up
Its so bizarre, people reaaaaaally get in the bandwagons (ive lost my stream of new karen videos, i miss MY bandwagon)
The point I’ve made through all of those experiences is that anti-Asian racism has the same source as anti-Black racism: white supremacy. So when a Black person attacks an Asian person, the encounter is fueled perhaps by racism, but very specifically by white supremacy. White supremacy does not require a white person to perpetuate it.

Its less about white supremacy and more about americans almost religious blind patriotism when the going gets tough, a solution is literally " 'merica! ": Hug that eagle harder and glare at anyone/anything that doesn't fit 'your america' claiming they want to hurt that eagle and is a valid reason for hating them, until the problem goes away.
Formula to rile up the bottom half of americans:
1. Let something happen, anything they see as negative or that negatively impacts them.
2. Find a place on the planet that can be either directly or indirectly accused for it.
3. Find people that live here (born or not) that just looks like they could have came from that place, and full on blame them for it, and resort to the idiots way of resolving stress: belittle, abuse, and attack someone you feel is responsible for your fears so you can say its someones else fault but ours.

Hell even do that with fellow citizens that live in your own country. Don't have to be foreigners. Don't like something/want someone to blame? Just claim to " 'merica harder than them " and say THEY are the bad guys to blame for X problem to justify the hate and random violence against them. It's the american way: Pickup trucks, beer, and kicking bad guys asses! Just we can now pick bad guys as we wish.

There's no boom, it's media, MSM picking up on it now when they before likely wouldn't have written an article (since e.g BLM or something else was more trendy to write about).
If you dig deep into whatever is it is, hate crime against white/black/men/women/PC gamers/asians you will find it and you can make it "boom". Never trust MSM, it's all politics.

It's always had an undercurrent here for sure for asians that had a thick accent (well really any foreigner that does, but speaking of asians for this context).
But was a mild (hate to use the term that way) cultural bigotry? Not sure if that's the right word..too strong...ingrained 'your different' sort of vibe. That sort of 1980's asian stereotype running under the feet of all asians. A less antagonistic stereotype than it is right now.
The virus along with the distortion of blame towards asians for it has made it spike up here regardless of the media (other than the ones furthering the 'wink wink nudge nudge' of its asian peoples fault).
It so was slight and barely a newsworthy thing before, the news would have had nothing really to report on about asian bigotry, unless it got more intense.
the MSM may be amplifying the current situation for sure. But it is amplifying something that did change in intensity on its own to start with.

I dont watch tv news nor article news, im usually just in imgur and reddit watching garbage in r/publicfreakout, r/actualpublicfreakouts, etc. And lately, ever since that old asian lady got attacked, its been a fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck ton of asian attack videos (a lot of them reposts) but yes, it seems its just the trendy topic now and we get to see everyone recording and being loud about whats trendy etc etc etc.
Wish they would focus on the mental state of the general population instead, there seems to be a huuuuuge fucking number of mentally unstable people and dumb people causing a real snowball of events.
Luckily i havent seen my first racisms event IRL, so much peace, it feels weird to get my phone out while walking around without the fear of a bandit motorbike putting a gun on my head for it.
Ratings went up when that idiot shot up a massage parlor. Anti white rhetoric was blowing up ratings as well. Combine the two, you get trump era ratings. Good for ad revenue. Problem is it doesn't match their anti white rethoric so they report on the crime, omit the race of attacker if other than white, and paint a faux white facade and complete the story in a by-line elsewhere at another time.
Here in Canada, at least in Toronto there's a massive black v yellow divide. Its been going on for the longest time. When blm became a successful trend, the attacks were rarely advertised on mainstream media. Only when the perpetrator was a white male/female. And even then even mainstream media didn't care about attacks on Asians as they were too common and didn't really track well with ratings.
Now it all changed with the attack on the massage parlors in the states. Suddenly everyone with a television lisence cares.
It is an issue and a non issue at the same time. These attacks didn't just start they've been going on for years everywhere. It's just now their blood leads. So there is a spot-light on it.

Pretty much. Then again, foreigners are forever second class citizens in places such as Japan, Thailand, Vietnam - even if they have business there. They're very homogenized societies, whether for good or ill. Don't even get started on China and their views on non-Chinese.
My point being that it takes two to tango, and in this case the underlying hate is mutual - so it's hard to feel sorry for either side really.

Didn't notice racism when visiting China, a few years ago. More the other way around, the Chinese were all very open and friendly (which did surprised me). Everyone wanted to take a picture with my gf, because of her long curly hair.

My impression is that while xenophobia can be triggered against tourists, it's actually more likely to be triggered with immigrants. If you're someone from a completely different culture that is incompatible with mine and you come live in my building, I might not understand many of your habits and even find them annoying. I think this multiplies where the dominant culture is more traditional and more ignorant about foreign cultures.
