Dread Delusion is an open world RPG brimming with strange places and dark perils. Carve your own path through the flying continents of a shattered land. Discover curious towns, unearth occult secrets, master powerful magic - and change the world through your choices.
People are saying a mixture of early TES, Kings Field (Though what I've seen doesn't look hard) and weirdness. Mechanically it looks tight though, I'm gonna buy. I think the artstyles great, and the ambient music is cool too.
Graphically its more like a PSX game than doom engine, everything's low poly. The first hour of story is not bad so far. You're prisoner freed by inquisitors to pursuing an outlaw, the Inquisitors are disgusting corpse machine people.
There's a loose class system, start with mage, thief, fighter or speech driven skills. You got combat atk/block, ranged weapons and spells. You gain stats by collecting map items. The typical TES style mechanics like lockpick etc are in the game.

I'm liking it so far.
On the 2nd area (Hallowtown, I think) and the music, exploration and world/setting are on point.
Quests and writing is nothing special, combat is souls-like mechanics for the sword, but it's really really easy IMO. BTW, AmpegV4's post might be a little misleading regarding the lockpicking if it leads you to think it's like TES (as in Skirim and Oblivion); it's not, it's a literal dice roll, with harder locks being a 5 or 6 and if you roll bellow a pick breaks.
PCLamer review reports that the final act seems to be pretty buggy so I'll probably quit by then but we'll see:

I'll keep playing and reporting.

Yep but honestly this is my preferred lockpick mechanic, I usually mod this into TES games as a time saver because I get sick of playing pipedream or whatever minigame Beth put there to open a locked chest.
Just give me a skill check, potentially with a you break lock cannot be opened (providing the loot pool is random). I think Morrowing was like that?
Fucked up my reputation with a faction accidentally trying to improve it with another and had to cheat to get them back with the small godlet water horse thingy offerings.
In case anyone else wants to edit their saves this works (horsie itemID is collectiblehallow BTW, you can see these on the console (key below ESC for me) when you pick them up/buy them):

Does sneaking/stealth even work in this game - tried to sneak my way into two fortresses. I was spotted immediately by people I even didn't notice due to graphics and was forced to fight.
I had that quest with giant beholder and it said I can sneak my way to get information and it's impossible because I can't sneak around the mage. I know I can kite him but I can't stealth it. WTF

I'm playing a thief and it works, works even better when you buy some astral cloak item. It's probably tied to agility so if you have a low agility it's a no go.

Yeahhh. Even as a kid I hated these kind of gfx and PSX never interested me much. Absolutely a 9 year old sprite supremacist. Doom looks heavenly compared to this

Weird I'm playing as a thief too. I've opened a backdoor at the onion mercenary with the big beholder. I was crouching - was instantly shot by an archer as soon as I've opened that door. Nevermind will wait for some patches.

Don't be a retard like me and ignore the thief oriented armor even when having more than enough funds to upgrade it to the max. Because I thought the stamina costs and moving speed would be the same as the plate armor worn up until then
