Mixed feelings about this, one of these games i have to play to know if i like it, last enemies vid looks cool tho. 20 bucks and less for me.. will take a while.
To be fair, it looks better on the 'first 45 minutes' streams than the earlier previews and articles. But I feel the novelty of the graphics, the new weapons and suit mods etc would wear off pretty quickly, to be replaced by that 'go back to the start and git gud, idiot' frustration of a rogue-style game.
I also can't understand people implying that they're happy to pay $70 (£70 here!) in order to 'support the developers'. Housemarque might not be Ubisoft, but we're not talking a couple of guys in a little office here!
I will probably pick this up, but not at anywhere near £70. Sony can keep the price there all year if they want, i'll be waiting for at least half off. Plus, as always, the game will inevitably get patches for bugs and probably a lot of balancing too on a game of this type when they get feedback on which parts are too easy or hard for the wider player base to deal with.
It's a simplistic shooter, they even compare it to space invaders. It's a low effort game. There's no hype surrounding it, it's not a brand name or has a big fan following. It's a 25 euro game at max.
Unfortunately i think it will sell, and at that price because in the beginning titles are scarce and people just want to test their new console. They know this and take advantage of it.
I preorderd this because my PS5 has been collecting dust since day one and this is the first true PS5-Exclusive with all bells and whistles at least in terms of controller support and 3D-Audio features. I have the Pulse 3D which I use on my PC as I'm primarily a PC gamer but I just want to get the full PS5 experience at least once now. Yeah, it's overpriced but the reviews are coming in with great scores so whatever, I'm down to play this tomorrow!
Because of how Sony jacked up the pricing on "next-gen games" to an average of 90 € I will only buy exclusives that I can't get on PC and I guess this is one of them.
Man they are cashing in on exactly that and utilizing PS5's technologies. People are jizzing over the walls and roof by what looks like nothing more than a average at best game

I know but there is a reason why I purchased the PS5 and I want to experience it at least once. Usually I would wait for a sale on this but currently I'm all out of games so this is pretty much as good as it gets.
yes, like i said previously, they are soooo taking advantage of this, i find it really shitty. there's no way this game is worth this much, it probably had a very quick development too which made it cheap to make.
Sony chortling away and filling their coffers. This game won't go anywhere...it CAN be picked up anytime in the future (almost certainly patched and balanced to improve the apparently ridiculous progression mechanics and difficulty) at a cheaper price.
I suspect there will be so many who bounce off this that it'll be widely available on ebay within the month, which at least will mean a more affordable entry point for those who feel they simply have to play this. I accept it's a rogue-like but from the reviews I've read, it just sounds like an ordeal in frustration and repetition even by the standards of its genre.
I implied in my earlier comments that this might be one I'd pick up at half price - from the reviews, it's just a pass now. Eurogamer gave it a 'recommended' but read the review; the guy (a paid, professional journalist and gamer) couldn't even finish it and gave up in frustration and exhaustion - his own summary! Lot of reviews same kind of tone - knowingly overscored imo.
Sadly, as PS5 owners like Foobyte admit, there's not much exclusive PS5 IP out there and I guess it makes everything new look all the more appealing.

Game is addictive as fuck for me, I've played some roguelikes so I know what to expect, may not be everyone's cup of tea obviously.
It plays very comfortably so far, I guess there will be plenty difficulty spikes incoming.
The haptic feedback from the dual sense coupled with 3d audio from the headphones really feels great.
Played 3 hours and gotta say I like it so far.
Gameplay feels literally like Control with a mix of Metroid and Hades.
Gonna play this a ton over the long weekend thanks to bank holiday Monday!
Solid 8/10 for sure.
Looks like Enter the gungeon but with less variety ?
Anyway - I am not paying 80 euro for this
3080, ps5, lg oled
Sin317-"im 31 years old and still surprised at how much shit comes out of my ass actually ..."
SteamDRM-"Call of Duty is the symbol of the true perfection in every aspect. Call of Duty games are like Mozart's/Beethoven's symphonies"
deadpoetic-"are you new to the cyberspace?"
I played 14 runs in 6 hours and attempted the first boss 3 times.
Managed to get his health down to a third but then it gets unfair lol. A lot of the game is luck I think. Luck that you get the good upgrades and pick ups via procedural generation!
I’m going to keep at it but it’s challengingly frustrating for sure lol.
