ya spot on, the worst are physical products requiring online connectivity or apps to function. Those are instant pass or return.

Also most people do it to themselves intentionally by being Windows fanboys. You can skip 99% of that bullshit on Linux and OSX choosing good opensource projects. Embarassed

china is investing a lot on linux, and sure it will be full of their crap but since it's linux maybe it will be possible to clean it and make it usable.

if this proves true i guess windows will become irrelevant for home users in the near future.

@zTurbo Well you don't need to "clean" and make it usable, that's a Windows and to a lesser degree OSX thing. You start with an empty canvas and add the tools and desktop experience you want to use. I wouldn't say near future but go-to "easy to install and manage" linux distro's are already here and only getting more mature each release.

@PickupArtist Well ofc given its developed by a company and not a community that will scrutinise any shitty code introduced. MS, Apple and Google are more than welcome to harvest every detail about you, develop new products and sell your data to it's friends and government for profit.

Can't say i've been hit with any of those bulletpoints outside of having no alternative but Android where i'll just uninstall and nope out of whatever i was doing, oh and i bought a sonos speaker once that wanted open firewall to cloud services, no way to just use it as a speaker, total garbage.
