Sound like a noob thread but I never really checked the antivirus programs out there, my pc don't have any because they simply bug me. Install one and check up like once per two months, never have serious virus so I keep it up like that. Now my parents want one on their comp and I dunno which one to take.

I've only used Norton and Symantec Corporate so I'm a little inexperienced... I'm voting for SC because I haven't had a single problem with it, it's unobtrusive and it's got a smaller footprint than Norton...

Interested in the others though...

with todays amounts of memory and Mhz's i don't think it matters a lot if some scanner takes 30megs and some only take fe 10, although i don't prefer norton either.

The best anti-virus programs are the programs which get updated most frequently and i think they all are good at it!

I've never tried anything but Norton, so it's hard to compare ... although honestly I'm not that concerned about viruses ...

Norton at least seems decent and the virus live update gives you a new subscription each time you re-install it (2003 ed. anyways). That's why I've never looked into changing AV programs.

Does NOD32 have the same kind of updating ability with the cracked version?

well if you crack NOD32 properly then it will never ask you to register and it just keeps on updatin' nearly every day!

Using NOD32 here, and it's working perfect.
It updates every day, and I've seen it update both two and three times a day.

The best is NOD32, it's also the hardest to obtain without opening your wallet (or at least it used to be).
Kapersky isn't a bad choise at all either.

Just don't forget to couple it with a good firewall.

look at AntiVirusKit 2005. wins nearly every review. simultaneously uses kaspersky and bitdefender engine -> detects all viruses found by kaspersky and bitdefender anti-virus. has a very nice and easy to use interface. updates hourly.
