Glen Powell To Star In Edgar Wright’s ‘The Running Man’ Reimagining At Paramount – CinemaCon
One of Hollywood’s busiest rising stars just added another big role to his future dance card. Glen Powell is set to star in Paramount’s The Running Man reboot for Paramount Pictures. Edgar Wright will direct and produce with his producing partner Nira Park and Simon Kinberg.
Based on the novel of the same name by Stephen King that the author first published under the pseudonym Richard Bachman, Running Man was made famous by the 1987 movie starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. King’s futuristic novel is a chase thriller set in a dystopian America in the year 2025. The story centers on Ben Richards, a desperate man who participates in violent reality show called The Running Man in order to win enough money to revive his gravely ill daughter. The show follows Richards being chased by numerous hunters sent to kill him. George Linder to exec produce.
Powell will also soon be seen in Universal’shighly anticipated action film Twisters directed by Lee Isaac Chung, a new chapter to the 1996 box office hit Twister. The new pic, which also stars Daisy Edgar-Jones, is set to release on July 19, 2024.
Well either one so question applies to both
I feel we are getting to that age like my grandfather: Who are these nobodies in movies now? What happened to Paul Newman, Cary Grant, Sophia Loren..you know the greats?
Not that either are extensive list of credits. But more and more I hear people my age ask that about actors, musicians, directors, and such.
More soulless remake garbage for the soulless brain dead masses. Surprised they didn't cast a strong black trans in the lead.
They still want to make money, even from a braindead, soulless garbage. So far, it’s pretty clear; forced diversity is not a money maker, to say the least.
There we go! Only took 7 posts! we can get it down to 2 cant we? I believe in us!
Welcome to nfohump, where we play the game "6 degrees of woke" where we try to, in as few degrees as possible, turn any topic into a woke debate.
Be it about how woke it is, or if it isnt woke, bring up how other things are.
Glen Powell is pretty hot now in Hollywood. Starred in a couple of well reviewed movies. For me somehow kinda a charisma vacuum and non presence on screen.
On the other side Edgar Wright is directing so at least there might be some nice action shots in this. IMO he made only one fluke - that horror movie with FAS Anya Taylor Joy. But Cornetto Trilogy and Baby Driver is the shitz.
