Yep, but i believe its me overworking a bit. Can sit home watching nothing for hours, or alt tab every second minute for no reason

Can also be online game addiction. Not sure many have taken notice on this phenomena but if you idle in some online game 24/7 for months your interest in other stuff vanishes and will feel quite boring. More fun grinding and/or doing nothing online you see.

I actually veered off online gaming the older I got. I just can't compete with zoomers with wallhacks and aimbots being a brickwall.
I found myself leaning towards "chill" management sims like tropico or any city builder I like. Or old boomer shooters I used to like as a kid. Something I can launch instantly for a short session then quit.
Maybe it's just been a super long drought of any really interesting game release. I have either outgrew modern gaming or it has outgrew me to focus on a new generation, but we just don't vibe no more.

Something like that. Work has been stressful as fuck for the last ~3 months instead of just the usual August BS, but I get home so mentally checked out that I barely want to launch a game.
Usually just go into sausage mode on my chair and shitpost a bit here or check out some videos.
Weekends I can still put a few hours in game, but unlike before it doesn't spill over to after work hours on weekdays like it did before.

Basically work life draining the soul out of us Very Happy Sad
I barely get the energy to invest myself in any game, I'll get hyped while working and such but when I do actually launch said game.. It's all been done before, gameplay loops are too evident.. really need a good story/atmosphere to pull me in.

I still game a good bit, at least a few hours a day. On Fridays and Sundays thats all I do in the evening for hours and hours, game with friends. (Saturday nights is Pathfinder pen&paper group night.)

But I dont do fast paced games, or ones that have a 1st/3rd person aspect anymore at all unless its with friends that want me to because as Zor said is all same-same clone gameplay with different outfits of why you run around shooting people.
Mostly I do sim and sandbox games. Always have but more into them last 10 years or so. Also really love racing games, but not sure if not just lumped under 'sim' I mentioned, as say Automobilista isnt the same as Cities Skylines or Planet Coaster 'sim' games.

Yeah, it's been like that for a few years with me. Last month I was thinking of giving Rumbleverse a go, but I find it's more fun watching Northernlion playing on youtube/twitch Laughing

@KillerCrocker
I cant get into that. If I have time to watcha game, I have time to just play the game myself and enjoy it.
Not downing people that do, everyone's different. Just I see no appeal to it when I could just spend that time doing it myself.

In my head its like being asked:
"Do you want to have sex?" when you have time and a willing person you want to with, and saying "No, I can just watch other people having it". Laughing

I see im not alone, even tho when i got the Steam Deck, ive been playing a lot more, since i can drop anywhere, couch, bed and play almost anything. Currently playing DAO, seems my saving grace is gonna be going back to old games that proved to be exceptional. Now days its some indies giving me fun, everything else is dogshit.

Preparing to play and waiting for the right mood here too.

There are so many VR games and also sims that i have (with my flight gear stuff i bought) that i've only used for like 2h and many games i've never launched even once.

I think there's a time when playing games turns into collecting them Sad

It's kind of sad but on those rare occasions where i do get into the mood it's fucking awesome and i feel like a kid again Smile
