I was surfing the web and suddenly... BAM! BSOD. PC rebooted but won't post, no beep no nothing. Power seemingly goes ok, leds and fans work but nothing else.

I'm too old for this shit, having two jobs doesn't leave me with a lot of time to test the 'puter. Anyone had the same experience? Can it be pinpointed without testing PSU, CPU, RAM etcetera?

Specs:
Win10 Pro latest build
i5 9400f with stock fan
32GB (2x16) 2666 DDR4 HyperX RAM
Asus H370-M Prime
2060Super FE
Samsung 850 500GB SSD
3x Seagate 1/2 TB HDD
TACENS Radix VII 600W PSU

Thanks!

maybe check if the board is posting an error code (beeps or lcd on the board), otherwise yes you have to test all hardware.

Start with different PSU if you can't even get it to post.

Pull power cord, clear CMOS (remove battery) for ~5 minutes, return power cord and try powering on.

Check/push all cable connectors to motherboard: motherboard power plug, CPU power plug, GPU power plug(s).

Look over the motherboard if it's clean. It's very unlikely but a bug or similar may have died and shorted something.

If you have more than one RAM stick, try each one by their own in RAM slot 1 and see if it boots.

Check the motherboard manual if your motherboard has any diagnostic lights (like a led next to each critical component like RAM, CPU and GPU) and how to interpret them.

Reseat GPU and try.

Remove CPU cooler, reseat the CPU after cleaning the TIM (cooling paste) from the CPU and cooler block and apply new TIM. Try again after reassembling.

Next step would be to replace each part (in turn) with a compatible one and test. PSU, CPU, GPU. If you have spares or can borrow from someone it's okay.

If you have the possibility to test your CPU, PSU, RAM and GPU at a friend's place you'll be able to more easily find out if it's one of the components (most likely CPU or PSU). The motherboard will obviously be more cumbersome to test since your friend would have to disassemble his PC in order to try your motherboard. If you find the particular component that is broken you can buy a replacement or sell the working parts and buy a new mobo+cpu+ram (and PSU if that's the problem).

If you can't find the problem you should perhaps prepare to buy a new system (mobo, cpu, possibly new RAM if the old RAM doesn't work on your new mobo and finally a new PSU if the new stuff doesn't POST).

I think you'll realistically have to replace your mobo, memory sticks or your psu. I don't think this is your CPU as my experience with a broken cpu once was no contact whatsoever when i tried turning on my PC
Good suggestions from frant, but this might be simple memory problem. Do a memtest and check as its best to do what you can before mangling your pc

He can't do a memtest though since the PC doesn't even post, ie. he can't boot or run anything on it. I guess he can test them in another PC if he has access to one.

Thanks all you menly men. I'll try to disassemble RAM, CPU and PSU cords. I suspect it's the PSU after all, I remembered I had the same problem back in 2014. What puzzles me is the BSOD, but I guess a power shortage can lead to different hardware problems hence windows going nuts Neutral
