Hi all.

I have 16 gigs in 2 sticks of mem for my pc.
Here is the mem i have.
https://www.overclockers.co.uk/team-group-night-hawk-rgb-16gb-2x8gb-ddr4-pc4-25600c16-3200mhz-dual-channel-kit-rgb-black-tf1d4-my-08m-tg.html

Just thought to myself i should get another 2x8 gig sticks of this mem bringing the total too 32 gigs.
Should i get the exact same mem or is there any better cheaper 2x8 gig sticks i should look at buying instead which are a bit cheaper?

Thanks Smile

sounds like you really need it, i would advise to remove all the ram installed right now and get a fresh new 128gb kit.

Depends on the games. I can hit 24-26GB in some games, or games with lots of mods.
MSFS or Cities Skylines with fuckloads of mods eat memory for breakfast.
Or VaM VR. That depending on the scene can chew up my 32G in 20 minutes if I change scenes a lot.

What vurt says, to save headaches with timings or DOCP/XMP settings working stable. Get the exact same mem, with same speed and timings.

It's not going to set your computer on fire or anything. But the different timings and voltages can cause system instability. I did it when dual channel first came out, I was still new to computers and never had an issue

If you start crashing or getting crc errors you'll know where the issue came from

I have made a simlar thread on another forum.
I will send them back and try to get an identical pair too the ones i have in my pc but the timing i think and ddr4 with the same voltage are the same so should be ok using them but i need a bit of help sorting it as i have never really messed with the memory part of the bios.

Please stop it. You make everything worse, how is that even possible????

Send them back and sell your current ram also, then buy a new kit with 2 sticks, if you really need more ram, WHICH I STILL DOUBT!
I have seen multiple people on reddit with your board, as soon as they use 4 sticks, they either have to lower the MHz oder can't even activate DOCP anymore.

If this is the case for you also, then your pc will be slower then before, more ram or not. Just the same like with tinkering with the timings and voltage. Don't do it.
You want to install 2 sticks of DDR4-3600MHz ram, go into the Bios and enabled DOCP. Nothing else. FINISHED.

Why are you doing this? Your other threads were like this already. Why do you ask, if you don't want to improve and do the same mistakes over and over again. Is this some kind of trolling?

Identical pair is better, but different sets is fine too. Only since my current PC I'm using the same sticks (2x 16GB), my previous PCs always had mixed memory as I upgraded after X years when memory became an issue (and usually the same sticks weren't around anymore or much more expensive due to old stock, etc). Just check that the latencies are broadly the same if you buy new ones, and run them at the highest latencies. Your PC isn't going to catch fire or anything.

But if you don't mind paying a bit more, sell the 2x8GB and buy 2x16GB.

Please look up the issues for his board, before recommened him something which will run worse then before, cause for example he can't enable DOCP anymore, the ram will downclock to boot, or not at all.
With his board he should not use more then 2 Sticks, cause it will give problems.
