Quote:

You are the Viceroy – a leader charged by the Scorched Queen to reclaim the wilderness
and discover lost riches for the Smoldering City, civilization’s last bastion against the Blightstorm
that destroyed the old world. Unlike most survival city builders where your focus is on a single
city, in Against the Storm you must build a vast, prosperous network of settlements populated
by diverse fantasy races, each with their own specializations and needs.

But the wilderness holds many hidden dangers, and never-ending storms will batter your
population into submission. If your settlements should fall, then the expedition may end – but
not the game. Against the Storm is a roguelite city builder, meaning you will carry forward the
resources, upgrades, and experience of your past expeditions each time you set off for a new
journey into the wild.

I've got about 20h now playing this game and thought it was good enough to post here.
It's a real-time colony builder with light RPG/Roguelike features. This is first builder I've
played that has a focus on replay-ability that kinda works.

What do you do?
You play maps that take anywhere from 30-90 mins to complete unless you fail, there are
unique biomes, and 4-5 races specialized in different things you need to consider each map.
You need to complete objectives to max out the reputation bar each map but you select
what those objectives are actively during the map. There are a plethora of buildings bot
locked and that you can unlock globally that provide the games resources at different rates,
inputs to the buildings are often variable meaning you can specialise in particular ways to
increase production.

I've seen no bugs, it runs well, the games polished and has enough content to release as
full game right now. The dev team push out new content roughly every 2 weeks with
another 10-15 features listed in the in-game roadmap.

Difficulty is good, start on easiest or you will get wrecked. The more you unlock, the harder
you can push the difficulty and the more XP you get in return. If you like these kinda games
this is worth a 2 hour demo. You can complete a map and therefore experience the full
game-play loop within the refund window. Games like $20 right now.
