Just saw this oldschool RTS in the HumbleBundle, which looks like a reskin of AoE 2!

It is along those lines yeah.
Played a lot of it back in the day.
This one too would deserve a proper extended edition, rather than this steam api injected in that very old exe.

Just wanted to try it now and man, why the fuck does Steam never care to at least put some effort into the releases of those old games?

Game was crashing after intro and had no Widescreen support.

For people interested, on how to enjoy the Steam version:
- Download the Widescreen patch: http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Star_Wars:_Galactic_Battlegrounds#Widescreen_resolution
- Extract the contents of the \CD folder to: ..\Steam\SteamApps\common\STAR WARS - Galactic Battlegrounds Saga\Game
- Extract the contents of the \DATA folder to: ..\Steam\SteamApps\common\STAR WARS - Galactic Battlegrounds Saga\Game\Data
- Run the SWGBWide_x1.exe executable and the patch will apply.
- Rename Player.exe to something else
- Rename wide_battlegrounds_x1.exe to Player.exe
- Now the game skips the intros and will play just fine in 1080p
- Ingame you have to select the resolution 1280x1024

Just started playing. Seems quite good to be honest.

As for resolution, fixes (that should have been there from the start), and overall just making the game better:
