What's this 'A Ubisoft Original' shit they've been doing lately like they're Netflix? Laughing

"I think Call of Duty resonates because it's believable and relatable," Sledgehammer Games cofounder Michael Condrey says.

Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty

Supposedly, this one will go back to the roots® (the same roots that were abandoned because they felt obsolete and redundant in the first place), but compared to the bloated and utterly uninspired Arr Pee Jeez trash they've released in the past few years, that would still be positive news. Having said that, it's a 202X Ubisoft game so I automatically expect it to be skippable with a 4.38% chance of turning out decent.

So this is why Ubisoft delayed the Prince of Persia remake, they just wanted to slap the Assassin's Creed name on it instead.

I find most recent ubi games unplayable without the help of some FLiNG sauce to skip the padding and get to that 4% "good" stuff. I've been doing this for basically most if not all of their games since 2016.
I want a fucking game not a job simulator ffs

Go found some gaming journo, you've really got your way around words to coin such stuff in a perfect way Very Happy Razz
Exact same opinion as you, if it's a comeback to the old formula of a fucking ASSASSIN game, great because I couldn't bring myself to play any of the nu-AC games and their MMO-like grind - only a bit of Unity, which wasn't so bad missions-wise in that specific regard. I kinda doubt this reverse gameplay engineering procedure will go all that well Laughing

I thought the original games were extremely boring. Combined with the find-a-million-things and they were worse than modern ones. When I played the original AC, I couldn't believe that PoP died for that. At the time, and I remember vividly (as it was my first PS3 game), it was cool having an open world, nice graphics and crowds. But it was shallow as hell otherwise.

Black Flag was pretty good, and the RPG versions are okay (for maybe the first 10hrs). But it seems no matter which AC you play, some inane fatigue always sets in before too long.

I quite liked the second and its sequels. But that first game. How was it again. 3 cities or something with each city having 3 sections and you unlocked a new part of another city after an assassination, and this kept going like 9 times. I was mind-blowingly bored even at the time this was a modern game.

tbh assasin's creed was never good. 1 st game got me curious back when it released bcuz it was different. Combat was shit( one hit everything as long as nothing hits you or one hit counter everything, parkour got boring fast, climbing towers was never fun etc.) story was/is meh because of the animus crap.

Newer games usually look better, this looks average as hell

Along with the new trailer:

This is a budget, side project production. They even priced it at $50. Seems the japan and germany ones are the main entries. Probably thats why the screenshots look worse. No time and money to flesh out and polish the game properly.

Will be interesting to see how this performs, if they go back to that primitive design pre Origins that everyone mocked. Some areas of the internet now pretends those were the good ol days

So at loss at what to do with their franchise all they could come up with was "let's revert to the first instalment's setting, that ought to do !" Very Happy

Avasarala made me stop watching The Expanse at season 2 Sad The show was great but nearly all actors played like they are in a theater play (probably they were picked from some). Especially Avasarala annoyed me too much.

Ubisoft: Guys, we need to stop releasing an AC game each 1 or 2 years! This won't cut it, as we need to raise the bar and increase quality!

Team: Woohoo! Finally! Great decision!

Ubisoft: That's why we're going to release THREE AC games each 1 or 2 years...
