Insta-buy. Mimimi's games are so good

At first I was disappointed to see so much magic, but actually it will allow them to diversify the character abilties beyond "knife throwing guy", "guy who takes out multiple enemies", "disguise lady", "sniper dude" etc.

Isabelle Moreau turned out to be the best part of Desperados III imo.

Damn, while this is not my type of game (lack of patience) it looks gorgeous and well designed.

While clearing my backlog i randomly chose to play shadow tactics (almost finished with it) and i love it. Shadows tactis made me instabuy desperados 3 as well and i still own the shadow tactics aiko'S choice sequel on epicgames i guess.

Anyhow looking so forward to this. Their other games are underrated gems.

That's a shame, these guys were great at what they did. Nicely crafted and polished games with solid core mechanics that always work as intended, and with settings/environments/characters + abilities that are varied enough to avoid the sense of fatigue. Unfortunately it's a niche genre and I imagine releasing their last game in such a crowded window didn't quite help either.

I hope someone else can carry the torch, though Partisans 1941's developer also closed down, and War Mongrels definitely wasn't a success either in terms of sales (speaking of, I've yet to try the updated version). There's the upcoming Commandos reboot made by some unknown folks, but who knows really.

What was in the link before it went down. The whole site is not working anymore. Maybe they just plugged it off....

"Making these games was amazing and extremely taxing at the same time. Reaching the level of quality Mimimi strives for is hard and requires focus and dedication. We also have to acknowledge that our future production costs are growing faster than potential revenues of our genre. The increased financial pressure and level of risk became unsustainable. Additionally, whenever our games got close to release and were finally fun to play, a new fight for funding of the following projects started, making this a continuous cycle."

I thought they were owned by thq or some other company, didnt know they were the devs and publisher for he last game.

Hopefully someone capable buys the studio and dont let this genre die for another 10 years Neutral

Shame. Always enjoyed their games. This one as well. I like that you could accomplish missions in so many ways; it's one of the few types of games I enjoy playing many times. Wish the best for them.

Finished, and... it's not so good unfortunately. While the setting is nice and atmosphere was top notch (as usual), I cannot say the same for the rest of the game. The semi open world doesn't work well. I always liked to clear the entire map of enemies, but as you now have to revisit the islands multiple times, and cannot combine missions, it's very repetitive, so you only clear the bare minimum to prevent doing the same shit 3-4 times. They tried to get some variation with day and night missions, and some have different points on the map, but you'll still have to cross the same bits quite frequently, and also many parts of the islands are then unused Sad As if the multiple normal missions weren't enough yet, on the end you have to repeat them again many times over Laughing The story was OK but sadly pretty much only progressed on the ship. The side "quests" were terrible and didn't add anything. The characters were OK mostly, but some are very overpowered (suleidy, pinkus, mercury) while others are just fucking useless (gaëlle, quentin (which can do environment kills with line, but there are hardly any environment kills possible anymore), terasa).

Yes, it's actually in their goodbye message:

Quote:
While this means that we won’t start production on a new big game, we will continue to fully support Shadow Gambit. We are already working on a patch across all platforms and have a big content drop planned for later this year, which we are sure you will love just as much as we do!
