(Yeah, i know there are topics with similar names, so why not with this?)
Post your actual mobo and, if ya want, your future upgrade, among reasons why ya picked the actual one and what ya want for the future one
For me:
ASUS X570 TUF GAMING PLUS
Reason: Z170 Mobo died due to auto XMP and needed something new and powerful. This did the trick for now. 3800x NO OC, 32GB DDR4 RAM, GIGABYTE RTX 2070 Super. 1004 BIOS and nothing further.
Future upgrade:
X670E? with 2 front USB 3.2 headers, 1 front USB Type C 3.2 2x2 or whatsoever, loads of back USB 3.2 ports + Type C back port (Future ExtHDD upgrade?). Optional WiFi, maybe 7800x + Noctua NH-D15S + RTX 4070 Ti Super. 64GB DDR5. Windows 10 compatible is a must (I've seen the SHITS with W11)
ASUS X570 TUF GAMING PLUS, 32GB DDR4@2666 ,RYZEN 5800X3D (NO OC),GIGABYTE RTX 4070 Super GAMING OC, Western Digital Blue 4TB 5400RPM + SAMSUNG 860 EVO 500+1TB GB SSDs , OEM SATA DVD 22xNoctua NH-D15 Chromax Black, BenQ XL2420T Case: Be Quiet! DARK BASE PRO 901. PSU CORSAIR RM1200 SHIFT

Asus z170 pro gaming
Reason: I bought it back then and its still working fine
Future Upgrade: Most likely no Motherboard at all but a NUC or something like that, because i don't play on PC anymore and can't justify the high price for components and standby power draw.

Asus Rog Strix X670E-F because..well, i bought my new pc 4-5 months ago and that MB had nice reviews (even though its asus).
Total spec i went for (apart from stuff i already had from my last one which broke and the Asus MB)
Spoiler: | Gainward Geforce RTX 4080
AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
Cm ML240L V2 ARGB 240mm Radiator
Kingston Fury beast RGB DDR5 5600MHz 32gb
Samsung 990 Pro MVMe M.2 SSD 1TB
Corsair RM850e 850W PSU
Fractal North Chalk White Mesh Mid Tower
Not what i had planned at the start as i wanted to wait until next year to upgrade, but as the cpu heat was way to high even though i changed fan and such...i gave in and bought a whole new pc. |
shitloads of new stuff in my pc. Cant keep track of it all.

MSI B450 gaming plus max
got it after my tomahawk 350 fried somehow.
AM4 supports up to Ryzen 5000 series, still on a R7 1700 so next maybe upgrade would be a 5700x or better. For now it still does everything snappy as ever so I see no need to change anything, oh and also the fact that I got an i7 11th gen and an rtx 3060 laptop.
Nothing these days screams "great deal on thing u could make a lot of use of better than what you have"
I'll buy when there's less gimmicks and more standarized actually useful features that make my current hardware hard to work with.

ROG STRIX B650-A Gaming Wifi
Didn't need all the bells and whistles it had, dont even use the wifi at all. But only board that was the color scheme I wanted for my rig of white, black and silver. Same reason I went with the gigabyte 4080 AERO it was white with silver trim.
Future upgrade? Not sure. Whatever is the winner of intel and AMD CPU wise when the next gens tock (of the tick/tock CPU cycle) come out, and winner between 5000 Nvidia or 8000s from AMD.

Gigabyte x370 gaming K7.
Still good enough with 5800X3D and 6900XT on PCIe 3.0.
I never had a mobo this long.
"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

Gigabyte B650 AORUS PRO AX.
because motherboards are insanely expensive these days, it was still expensive but maybe 25-30% less than competition with same features. what's considered "pro" today was a fucking standard 10 years ago...
Seems decent. They're pushing out firmware updates quite often to extend support etc.

Asus PRIME Z790-P Wifi, pretty basic 13th-gen stuff but it's decently looking and does what it needs to without costing an arm and a leg.
As for the future? I just upgraded so we'll talk about it again in ~2033
