Nice! The first one had its own share of problems (occasionally flaccid level design, repetitiveness in the second half, some artificial difficulty spikes, and so on) but I still found it very entertaining as far as Soulslikes go. It was also a pretty damn shamefur port, though they did patch it up to some extent. Let's hope the second one receives a bit more care.

This one went pretty much like the first one for me on console
enjoyed it for around 40 hours then I dropped out.
unlike souls, story/lore/world is too uninteresting to make me want to see it through and it gets too repetitive after a while
it does have some good improvements for sure though.
the coop is fun, there's new special moves for your character that spice up the combat system and can save you in a bind (now you have a *panic* button with iframes if you want)
there's more variety in the environments, though if you do side stuff you'll replay the same areas a lot again (some layouts changed, ladders moved, different starting position etc)
it's the way a sequel should be, really. it's more of the same, but bigger and better.
for me personally I much prefer the immersive souls style over the gamey nioh style, but this is still great for a lot of people and I'd recommend it if you're into these kinds of games

Finished first one, looking forward to this. Good, solid souls-like in my book, with a very nice loot system if I remember correctly. I think I'd rate it somewhere just below the FromSoft games (DS, Sekiro) but above The Surge.

What's that annoying rolling piggybank-like pet thing following the main character after 4:42? Looks like it attacks too but after 1 min it disappears and doesn't show up anymore in this video.

that's a yokai cat you can find hidden around levels, where if you find and pet it it will follow you for a while.
it attacks enemies for a bit of damage but is mostly there to buff you and will disappear after a while.

Not sure if worth it. From what I saw it's gonna be the same case as with Nioh1, you'll be underleveled for most of the game. I'm not sure what the devs expect. Replay the same levels over and over for xp and levels ?!

I loved Nioh 1. It had the best combat of any game that I've ever played until then. To this day, I still wish for a game that mixes Nioh's technical combat and movement from Sekiro.
But one thing I disliked about it is just how much time it demands from players. And considering that Nioh 2 is much bigger I'm hesitant about starting it.
