just when i finally played this last year on ps5 now its releasing on pc too thought would never release on current hardware but will def try again with different paths this time as its really good
The first game I saw "streamed" from start to finish.
Caught some utuber playing it years back and just the 15-20min at the beginning were enough to completely hook me.

Until Dawn has been rebuilt with the latest tools and techniques. New and improved animations build on the success of the original character performances. Characters, environments and VFX have been upgraded – all for a truly enhanced cinematic horror experience.
We use a broader cinematic tonal colour palette and new perspectives to make the story more nuanced and emotional. We’ve been brave enough to shine a light into the dark, unseen corners of Blackwood Mountain and added a third-person camera, which means you can now look behind the curtain of the original game, exploring enhanced and new locations with new interactions and collectables.
Incorporating a third-person camera and adding contextual character movement animations, the game now allows the player to really feel the experience of that fateful night.
Until Dawn’s sound has undergone a massive overhaul too, featuring a new score from legendary horror composer Mark Korven.
We’ve endeavoured to keep the fantastic narrative integratory of the original, but we have seized the opportunity to expand upon unexplored emotional parts of the story.

Saw someone (totalbiscuit? or someone who made a podcast with him?) stream this back in the day and it was really really enjoyable, but that thumbnail right there just shows how this remake ruins the original IMO.

the 16:9 aspect ratio is just too zoomed in, same problem as with star wars outlaws.....like how hard is to keep the cinematic aspect but just remove the black bars? all they do is take the cinematic image and zoom it until no more black bars.....u even lose image this way
Modders on their free time do it in 1 week. I don't know what's with such big budget companies who don't put in such features by default. Maybe management is like: -"Nah, don't bother, some nerd modder is gonna fix it anyway." or devs be like: -"Nah, I ain't paid enough for this." or -"Herp, derp, I just started programming/graphics, how am I supposed to know how this works?!"
its like on tvs when u put a movie with black bars and set picture screen to zoom in to fill the screen...
the cinematic mode is still fine since most supermassive games are like this but every playthrough i see they play the game without black bars and just looks bad and for sure its not intended to play like this...
but there also are supermassive games like frank and devil in me that dont have black bars and look fine so probably the full screen mode is just an afterthought
what's with the warm and very sunny glow filter, doesn't exactly fit the cold temperature or location or atmosphere at all. overall this seems like another game where the remake just completely misses the mark in terms of improving things that really matters (like atmosphere) and instead just ruins it.
